Bits of Blumenau - Back in town!

Well yeah guys, the good times in Berlin are over, back to the reality.

So last Sunday, actually the last and ONLY sunny day this month, I went downtown to take some pics of what changed on these last months and kind of check out the city again.

I can say it improved, but remember guys that next month we're having elections in the city governments, so everything gets done really fast on these years haha. The new city arena for indoor football, volleyball and basketball was completed, the city's landmark was restored and the construction of some new houses in the German Village started. And mind you guys, they even added signs in ENGLISH (and GERMAN!!!!!!1!111) around the city (you should know that signs in English here are VERY rare).

So I present you (again) Blumenau!

1 - The new city arena

2 - The city's biggest (and basically only) park

3

4

5 - Walk on the left, bikes on the right... where do people walk? On the right side ofc!

6 - The city's justice offices

7 - Beach volleyball, very popular in coastal cities in Brazil, but also have that here

8 - Deutsch! Sehnsucht

9

10

12 - New houses in the German Village

13 - CafÚ

14 - Some tourists in September (wtf!?)

15 - Like I said before, English and German (and Pt in the back ofc)

16

17 - This piece of sh*t's gonna be torn down and replaced by this

18 - New shopping center fašade ( )

19 - Carlos Gomes Theater

20

21 - Theater's garden

22

23

25 - XV de Novembro Street

26 - Biggest school in the city, Bom Jesus

27 - Havan (store) and the Castelinho (little castle), which was recently restored

28 - Inside it

29 - Annex to the Castelinho, this is brand new (as you can see), some people don't like the mix

30

31

32

33

34

35

36 - And another reurbanization project going on

37 - 7 de Setembro Street, the main one in the city

So that's it!

Heheh actually I took that because that building is a pretty famous landmark in town and both the building and the store quite well known in the Brazilian forum, so I wanted the guys to see how it looks like from the inside.

Interesting to see how differently you represent Blumenau and Berlin! Thank you for sharing the pictures - the German village looks very interesting!

I'm really surprised such a city exists. I expected like 5000 people there but with 300.000 its quite a big city. I believe I've nerver seen such a clean city, you know Kehrwoche?

"Wunderbar", Schmidt!

I┤ve been just once to Blumenau, in 1989 (I was just 12), and I see the city has improved a lot since then.

Great pics!
