Construction of the 57-story tower is currently on hold
A new 57-story residential tower is planned for Tribeca. Construction at 56 Leonard Street, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, began in mid-2007 by developer Alexico Group, but is on hold since 2009. The site is located at the corner of Church Street, on the east side of the block shared by New York Law School where a new library was recently built.
Click here for a tour of the rebuilding projects taking place in Lower Manhattan.

Locate this project on the Interactive Streetwork Map.

That was you in February. So you were the one who claimed this project would resume, so in the future please don't just make stuff up. Thanks in advance.

But to answer your question, I wouldn't put much into that website removing that info, that site generally isn't a great source of information. There have been reports over the past 4-6 months saying that Hines was reviving this tower and planned to move forward with construction.

must be to the highest floor, unless the building got shorter...

761 feet sounds like it could be the highest floor of an 821 footer.

a height decrease would be a downer, i thought this would be a nice modern match to Ghery's tower on the other side of the island. At 760ft it would be a bit too short
