This building will have one of the best applications of balconies I have ever seen. Combined with the "Jenga" massing and the Anish Kapoor sculpture and it will be a new landmark for New York City, and a significant tourist attraction to the sculpture.

Cool renders. Much corners in the plans but that means views in all directions.

I think This and Beekman will compliment each other quite well.

The site was quiet and a passing cop in a police car complained about me photographing the site.

My pleasure. And the foundation of this building was built before it was put on hold, and has been prepped for the developer to resume construction. So this building is already at street level, and should rise quickly.

Thanks a lot! Good to see the crane go up, and very soon the building itself!

I'm not so sure this will rise that quickly. It does have a pretty small footprint, but the floors are so varied. I think it'll take crews a bit longer to go from floor to floor like a typical building.

I believe another forumer on here whose involved in the project mentioned it will have some unusual techniques involved in the construction.

If you look at renderings the first 10-15 floors are pretty similar. After that, then things get more unique but the bottom floors are pretty similar.

I am a student at New York Law School and I'd like to start posting pictures of the construction of 56 Leonard next door. How do I post pictures?
