If you have the photos on your computer, just use imgur.com, click 'Computer' in the upper right, double click on the pics you want to post, 'start upload' to upload and paste the [IMG] BB Code here. Flickr would be a waste of time for just a handful of pics.

Both buildings were built within a year of each other. 33 Thomas Street was completed in 1974, while 375 Pearl was completed in 1975.

Sorry for off-topic, just like setting the record straight

I believe Flickr have got a bit upset in the past with people not using the BBCode (Bulletin Board Code) sharing option which includes the link back to the photo owner's page. If you click on the "share this photo" arrow on the Flickr photo page (bottom right hand corner of the photo) and take the BBCode option it does all the hard work for you. (Not that I've tried this...)

just quote my post above and click " switch editor mode" if you need to learn how to properly link and credit Flickr photos. [A/A]
you can also embed a URL over a photo so you can click the photo to go to the source, though I always leave the link at the bottom anyway.

I see.
So, assuming a 2-3 year construction schedule, they would have gone through approvals in the late 60s/early 70s? I guess that's what I was curious about (I should have worded it better).

I mean, just think about how militant people are these days, and it's hard to imagine 375 Pearl ever seeing the light of day.

Well, keep in mind that the late 60s, early 70s was a pretty bad time in New York. Back then, both of those telecom buildings would have been seen as improving the neighborhood, since most of the city was in a recession and crime was escalating (not to mention many blocks of town were simply abandoned). But yes, it's very likely that they are byproducts of 60s design, much like the original World Trade Center.

To put the long story short, use imgur, not arrogant flickr

Gahhhhhhh, it looks so good! My only quibble is that the renders made the glass appear more transparent, whereas this is ultra-reflective. More transparent glass would have given it a slightly lighter, more airy appearance, but you can understand the practical reasons why residents would prefer not to have it.

In any case, it's still beautiful -- each of the floors looks like one of those classic Hollywoods Hills modern houses, stacked one atop the other.

How does it come that i feel bad when i read your statements........???
About old-new contrast i wouldn't say that the reuse of that pic is appropriate.
Ok..everybody should know now,as you have said that many times that the mirrored glass is stuning.
As you pretend that you are in NY you should immortalize by your own that splendor and share....Seems that you play a game that i misunderstand...
No doubt God loves you a lot!

Hey folks, based on the latest pics I made a new update of my diagram. I estimate this building to be now approximately 140 meters or 459 feet tall

Roof height used below

Oh trust me, he's in NY all right. As if he'd ever be anywhere else (except maybe London).
