I honestly cannot bring myself to even remotely-like this monolithic jumble of architectural-injustice. Of course, it will have an impact on New York's skyline - but a negative one. There are buildings which suit New York and this is not one of them. I truly hope something happens to halt it's rise, either that or it receives a major-redesign. It just does not work for me at all.

Unfortunately I have to agree, I like variety but this took it too far. It doesn't fit in my opinion. Hopefully I will change my mind but for now I think the design is horrible.

I'm sure that once they hear about your disapproval, they'll start a major redesign, now that the building has almost topped out and the curtain wall is half way up.
Fingers crossed!

That angle makes it look more like the render.

Also, I'm personally in favor of nicknaming this the jenga tower lol. But just 56 Leonard sounds alright, too.

It's really a damned if you do, damned of you don't when it comes to skyscrapers in NYC: build something ordinary and it's another boring box, build something unique and it "doesn't fit." I'd rather they be damned if they do!

It doesn't fit , yet I can't imagine it anywhere else other than NYC with it's long tradition of pushing the envelope with skyscraper designs. This will no doubt become one of the icons of the Manhattan skyline.
