There u r... this is wot exectly i was also thinking after seein that renders. I have seen Abu DHabi race track and its awesome. From the flight if u look at it , u can see a wave of ferrari designs in thick red color spread over more than 100 acres. I too expect something of that sort but this designs looks pretty ordinary.

When we built it, it should be an ordnary one because a country like UAE with a GDp of 200Billion USD can built such a fabulous f1 track, why cant India which is a trillion dollar economy...

Cheers..

Noida's proposed F1 track hits crematorium block

After facing stiff resistance from unwilling farmers who refused to hand over their land for the construction of a race track for
the construction of a race track for the Indian Formula 1 in Noida, a cremation ground is proving to be another stumbling block.

According to Gautambudh Nagar administration, the latest round of trouble began after the pradhans of three villages refused to relocate a cremation ground in Greater Noida which had come in the way of the race track. The racing track construction company is willing to bear the cost for the proposed relocation.

This is the second time when the racing track, one of the ambitious projects of the Indian Olympic Association and the UP government and being executed by a leading private construction company, has been slowed down by the villagers of Greater Noida. The matter has now been referred to the state government.

"A cremation ground which is used by three villages Atta Gujraan, Gunapura and Mirjapur of Dairy Dankaur for several years needs to be relocated. However, villagers say they have an emotional attachment with the place and it was an expensive proposition to carry the dead to an alternative site several kilometres away.''

A delegation of the construction company have now decided to persue the case with the state government. Sources claimed they even met officials of the district administration on the matter. Speaking to the media after several rounds of protest by the locals, SDM (Sadar) Vishal Singh said, "The matter cannot be solved at the district administrative level and has been referred to the UP government as according to rules, cremation grounds can only be removed from their position after gaining the consent of locals."

Meanwhile, the pradhans of the three villages have been asked to submit a written application for a desired location for a cremation ground with the district administration. The proposed race to be held in 2011 was earlier slated for 2010. The project has been facing protests by farmers. Last year, it got delayed following protests against acquisition of 258 acres of land at Jaganpurafjalpur, Fatehpur Atta and Gunpura villages. At that time, too, the matter was sorted out by the state government after the approval required for acquisition was given using the relevant sections of the law.

An exclusive 10-year contract to host the premier race in Greater Noida has been signed between Construction Company and F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone. The site for the race track was surveyed by Hermann Tilke who has designed most F1 tracks over the past decade in Sepang, Bahrain, Shanghai, Istanbul and Singapore.

The race track is being developed near the proposed Greater Noida airport, about 50 km from Delhi. In October, 2007, the Fidiration Internationale de l'Automobile signed a Rs 1,600-crore contract with JPSK Sports Private Limited to organize an F1 race in India. It is expected to be completed by April 2011. The track will have a length of 5.5 km and an area of 4,000 hectares. Seating capacity is expected to be 200,000.

The circuit will be part of a sports complex which is planned to include a 100,000-seat cricket stadium, 18-hole golf course, 25,000 seat hockey stadium and a sports academy. The sports complex is expected to generate $170m of revenue annually, and employ 10,000 people.

From a recent article...

Quote:
But, Mark Hughes, vice president of promoter Jaypee who have signed a ten-year race contract with Bernie Ecclestone, said the teams have also been involved in the shape of the track that could be the fastest on the calendar after Monza.

"We sent the details to all the teams and they programmed the information into their simulators and gave us feedback on where we could make improvements and add overtaking opportunity points," he said in an interview with Reuters.

Hughes, formerly involved with the Bahrain race, said he expects the privately-funded $350 million venue to host its inaugural race next October.
