great time for Delhi ahead, all the infra upgrade for CommonWealth Games and the very next year F1...

also a 1,00,000 seater ultra modern ICC Cricket stadium too coming up near the F1 track...bhoomi pujan done..!!!

I didnt expect work to reach at this level. it has come above ground mostly and rest should be eye pleasing updates.
overall quality and standards look top class. the amount of steel and cement they are using i am sure it will kick ass.

What makes it unique is that it is biggest luxury project at the moment in whole of the India. after we are done with basic infrastructure we should pay some attention to luxury projects like this as well.

Yes, the quality is very good, JayPee is anyways famous for its quality construction may it be Taj Expressway or its commercial or residential projects.

It will be all RCC construction.....only steel and cement will be used with all the latest technology...and no bricks and all...

This will be a huge project with 1400 high rise apartments, independent villas , Cricket Stadium, F1 Track, Go Karting Track,28 man made lakes, Olympic size sports block( Squash, Basketball, Swimming pool, Badminton, 250 seater audi etc etc), Big Brand Multi speciality hospital,5 star JayPee hotel....sports city is in total area of 2500 acres....so its the largest project in INDIA...not enough attention paid to it though...!!!

Some news articles in Hindi regarding the F1 track and nearby cricket stadium

Formula One

Translation: Formula One race track will be ready by March 2011 and after that India will be the world's 19th and Asia's 3rd country to hold a race when it will host a race in Oct 2011. Earth work for track is 80% complete and will be over by July. It will have a capacity of 1,20,000 people. Track length is 5.1 km and cost is 1000 crores.

Sports city is being built on 5000 hectares area. Along with race track, it will have 5 star hotels, convention centre, car parking for 40,000 cars, residential area of 5 lakh people. This sports city has Yamuna expressway on one side and Eastern Peripheral expressway on other side.

Cricket stadium

Translation: This 1 lakh capacity cricket stadium in sports city will be done by Oct 2011 and is being constructed near F1 track. It will be done in 2 phases - first phase will have a capacity of 40,000 and second phase will add another 60,000 to it.

^ ^well one of our member IR who visited the site talked to the site engineers and they told him that it will be ready in 9 months.
it is doable i think since the biggest part in racetrack construction is to prepare the ground and the tracks and that seems to be on track. in rest of the three months they can move in the staff , machines, electronics and other logistic stuff.

Humnn, don't worry the complete arena with track will be completed in next 10 months time....Shapoorji & Pallonji hold enough expertise to finish this project on time....

90 % of earthing and leveling has been completed according to the chief engineer and its a true statement as i could see it in front of myself....

structural work can be completed in 10 months bro...!!!

Delhi 2011 is scheduled for the month of September 2011.....so technically we still have 16 months left .....
