Is that the highspeed tunnel? I cant imagine a highspeed train crossing the whole city underground by 250 km/h. Are there any examples of that?

Tube construction under water is complated last week. Underground tunnels openned also. Now the project will start its second step. Suburban Trains of Istanbul will be cancelled. And Line will be upgraded to metro standards. 3 lines will operate, two for public transportation of Istanbul, one line is for trains. French Alstom will construct the this part of the project. Current trains is going to be history in next December

Current suburban train at Haydarpaşa Station in Istanbul

Another important railway project for Euro-Asia transportation is Baku-Tblisi-Kars Railway is under construction

Current suburb trains look like RER trains of Paris. I hope they will preserve a few of them in RR museums

I travelled with both our suburban and RER... there is no relationship actually. Our suburban trains are out of this age. Thanks God they will have two months left and then adios siempre

And I still don't understand why you quoted whole post, instead of picking one pic and talk about. Everyone warns you about it and you always do the same and don't care what people say! Why?

I wish too, it would be nice if all our southern holiday resorst had rail-connections, people would not have to drive for hours.

wonderful thread

all those projects are very important for our country. I believe Antalya will have train connection in the near future too. There was such a plan before, but it is not projected yet!

I wonder why there are plans to build the railroad around the northern shore of lake Van instead of doing it on the southern one which would be much shorter.
