This street was once filled with quality stores years back, apparently. I'm talking about the 1960s here...
I wish them luck - it'd be great to see much more of an independent and perhaps more of an alternative selection around this area - potential for a mini Camden perhaps?

I'm in two minds about that one - The south elevation, fronting the street looks tasteful and keeps in reasonable character with the street but I'm not entirely sure about the large block behind it, especially on the left side of this construction, where the unit frontingg the street on the left side has a much lower height.

They've worked wonders with the frontage of (what used to be the grotty old) Costcutter!

If more streets had this kind of attention to detail Coventry wouldn't have half as bad a reputation.

That is quite decent. I agree. I think decent frontages on streets are pretty important. It's a real shame Coventry doesn't have the equivalent of somewhere like Eccleshall Road in Sheffield.

Gosford street has taken some time to reveal exactly what is going on down there and Dr Pepper's photo's surely do those buildings that have already seen restoration some real justice.

There is still a long way to go with the buildings that are yet to be transformed there and I haven't yet seen any sign of preperation toward the new buildings! Does anyone know of any scheduled site clearing or plannins apps for these?

Sorry if this has been posted before, if it is in this thread I'll go look back. Just really keen to see realy work started on rebuilding this broken City.

Do the tenants of these unit have a remit to maintain the upkeep of these buildings and to keep them clean on the outside, or do they pay a surcharge like a BID?

The weaver's topshops look marvellous.

Coffee Beans looks interesting. Is it a cafe?

Thanks for the photo, I drive down Skyblue Way twice a day and only see the back of this. It's nice to see the front!

I really hope they start the work on the bottom end to enclose it all in soon.

I love this thread! When they refurb the Bristol St frontages and the Colmore Row hotel shop fronts in Brum I hope they end up as good as these do.
