Great pics. I've heard lots of good things about this city. My grandparents immigrated to Australia from Polypótamos in the 1950s. Is that nearby?

The only Greec city I've ever visited (shame on me...) Brings back good memories to me!
I mostly liked the old upper town, which I hope to see in this thread soon...

I dont know Mylopotamos how far or near is from Thessaloniki

If you referred to the village of Polypotamo(s), it is located at about 160 km west of Thessaloniki, 10 km south-west of Florina. There is another Polypotamos, in Euboea (municipaliy of Styra).

The first one is right. I have relatives in Florina as well. I alway thought it was closer. Although I guess Thessaloniki is the closest "big city".

Hoping to visit sometime within the next 2 years as I've never been to Greece before.

Pretty much all of the post WWII immigrants from the area went to either Perth, Melbourne or Toronto. I have heaps of relatives in Toronto too - another place I have to visit one day
