The legacy of late president Miterand, the sheer size of it is amazing. French architecture at its best.

The Seattle and Rotterdam ones have got to be the worst eyesores so far.

In the latter case, the bright orange pipes going along the side of the building ruin it.

Project of new university library in Split - Croatia, 8.600 m2, Capacity: 700 000 volumes.
Total costs: 15 million euros (20mill US$)

Croatian National Library in Zagreb - Holds over 3 million volumes, total cost over 400millUS$ in 1998.

http://www.nsk.hr

It is perhaps one of the most impressive national library's in Europe and by size it is certainly largest in central and eastern Europe, its maximum capacity is 5 million volumes and current collection is over 3.2 million.
