...if it had been straight up and down though it really would have been dull - in this case the over-hang creates a talking point. It's purpose can't just be aesthetic though...?

I dont think it is that bad. It seems to have character while remaining concise and modernist a bit like the old fire station at the Barbican. The trouble is with this area of London is that it is such a fractured urban environment that any large development will seem a bit out of place with little in the way of cues for design, a bit like Dubai I suppose.

If the white bits were conrete then I'd be worried, but it's metal cladding, which, together with the coloured glass make this a neat, stylish tower.

Im in two minds over this- It could either be a high quality tower such as Pan P or be downright awful like the Discovery dock that thankfully is still stuck in planning.Really depends on the execution & materials. Planning docs say this could start in 2009 but I doubt it
