Drove to Boston the other day and paid $3.67 in Springfield on the way there.

The station near my house is $4.23. Gotta love CT!

Is there any reliable website to check prices in Italian petrol stations? I got used to pay around EUR 1.60 per litre during the summer (with Eni weekend discount) and it hurt me a lot when I had to pay EUR 1.75 last weekend. All prices for diesel.

I checked prezzibenzina.it but it is made by registered users so most stations are missing and/or have non-updated prices. Here there is a list of independent stations (http://www.codacons.it/area_download...dipendenti.htm). May they have lower prices?

Don't think so.

As a rule of thumb, yes. But some "ies" station have quite high prices, for instance. I guess you'll have to check for yourself.

In Spain there is a tool (http://geoportal.mityc.es/hidrocarburos/eess/) made up by he government which keeps prices updated for every station. I thought there must be something like that for every country...

Checking the stations by myself will be quite costly since they are in the outskirts of the city but I will try with a couple of them I guess I will have to keep paying the costs of the Abissinia war...

You're gonna pay it anyway. It's a nation-wide tax, no exemptions.

You forgot the obscenely cheap price for propane/autogas.

My "new" Volvo S60 gives me about 7 l/100 km on the open highway and 9 l/100 km when city driving also enters the equation. Not too bad for a 180 hp petrol car...

At the pump in Oslo a full tank set me back about 900 NOK (120 Euros) last week. 13.49NOK (1.81 Euros) per litre of 95.

Still, the normal midweek price is beyond 15 NOK/2 Euros...

Alas, no.

When I was growing up (in the '70s...) the Canadian dollar ran around 92 or 93 cents U.S. I can remember it (the Canadian dollar) dropping to around 75 cents U.S. maybe around 1990. Lately, they've been very close to each other. It's true: the first time the Canadian dollar went above ours it seemed weird to me. But that was a few years ago, so now I'm used to it.
