Argentina prices are ok in that map, 95 gas costs $5,41 a gallon. I could swear Brazil prices are a lot higher, really, last time I went there prices were higher than in Arg

Despite the high prices of fuel in Italy (today's average is 1,831 €/L for the E95) I'm still maintaining my "purchasing-performances" under 1,7 €/L: Friday night I filled my tank paying "only" 1,682 €/L for the E95!

Prior to it I filled my tank on 30.11.2012 paying 1,675 €/L!

Dude, there is no country in the world where the gas price is as low compared to national income as the United States. No reason to complain even if gas was $ 5 per gallon (which is still lower than virtually all of Europe, including countries where the median income is $ 15,000 per year).

I'm not complaining. Just making statements. My income is such that I can afford a higher price. These price fluctuations show that the oil companies can charge what ever they want.. and as part of the consuming public that must use my auto..I have to pay for gas no matter the price. Oh well.. I have to go to work..so I can buy more gas...

Our gas jumped to $3.39 a gallon for unleaded plus...Regular unleaded is $3.49. In Iowa unleaded plus is a 10% ethanol blend.

Up from $3.459 to $3.599 (for regular) here (the neighborhood Sunoco) in the last week or so.

My wife just left for work.. she's going to gas up the car..there's a slight drop in the price today.. $3.349 a gallon for unleaded plus.

I won't call the oil companies robbers any more. They are charging the price that the market can bare or what they can get away with. but you folks in Europe are really getting pummeled on the price of all fuel.

Especially if you take into account the wages there, the fuel is insanely expensive.

This page might be interesting http://energy.eu/

Apart from the headline motor fuel prices at the top, if you scroll to about halfway down there is a comparison table showing columns for the margin (processing, transport, retail, etc, I assume) and for duty and tax

Looking at that helps to understand comments by some providers about their very low margins, while one can see a wider range of retail price in other countries.

I'm well aware of the high price of fuel in Europe. I posted that to point out this statement out I made some time ago;

I've visited Europe...many years ago.Before most members of this forum were born...not planning on going back....I'd like to take my wife to Italy. I'm sure she'd enjoy that.

There was a report that the high fuel prices in Europe hamper economic recovery. People could afford the high fuel prices in good years, but now the purchasing power has declined quite a bit over the last couple of years, people have a lower discretionary income. Since fuel is a basic need of most households, they cut back on other things, which is stifling economic recovery, since we live in an economy based on consumer spending.

Switzerland is about 1.8 francs per liter (ca 1.4 euros per liter or about 7 $/gallon). It's fine considering Swiss salaries. Plus for me personally driving is not a must - I can commute to work cheaper and almost as fast with a train.
