This thread is really full of paradise-fuel cities.

Here, Unleaded fuel is 1.8€ per litre, diesel 1.7€/lt.

In $/USgallon, 8,81$/gallon for 95 unleaded, 8,32$/gallon for diesel.

My 3 adult sons live in San Diego CA the cost of regular unleaded there varies from $3.85 a gallon to $4.09. Most prices there seem to hover around $4 a gallon.

My daughter lives in Washington DC regular unleaded there is about $3.65 a gallon. Prices do vary quite a bit in DC and San Diego.

Check gas buddy.

E85?! We also have E85. Tomorrow I will post a price. I don't know anyone that uses that grade of fuel or diesel. Some folks must use it. It's being sold.

Yes, I haven't seen it pass 15SEK yet though.

Back inte the days of 2002. This was very cheap for that time.
8.72SEK/L ( 1EUR/L 5,06$/Gallon)

I can't understand that today US prices are 3/4 of the price we paid 11 years ago ?? Still people in the US complain about their gas prices ??

Well, the US is much more dependant on the car than we are. A normal middle-class household usually has two cars that are used almost every day, and while the cost of owning the car is lower, part of that is eaten by having to fill up two cars all the time.

An anecdote: When we were visiting a friend living in the US, his son (age 12) asked for a ride to a friend's house. He obliged and came back a few minutes later. We all thought: "That was quick!". Turns out the friend lived about 400 meters (1/4 mile) down the street, and yes there were sidewalks all the way.

A popular myth. Americans do use their cars more than Europeans, but overall the share of transport by car between Europe and the U.S. does not differ all that much (less than 10%). It's just that in Europe you have better options with alternate transport modes than in the U.S., but for most people that's what it is; an option.

Americans use their car for 90% of their travel, in Europe this is between 80 and 90%. But Americans do travel much more distance, the average American drives twice as much as Europeans. On the other hand, Dutch car drivers commute longer than American car drivers.

There is a reason. America/United States is a country and a continent which means people move around and have relatives located in other states, their roads are usually straighter which means it's easier and more relaxing to drive and of course gas is cheap.

"Europeans" what is that ? Albanians or people from Switzerland ?

For Sweden petrol is so expensive that people who live in the countryside and commute have trouble making it financially, eventhough real estate is cheap. Depopulation in the countryside is increasing, schools and stores close.

Although you have the right to deduct petrol costs for comuting to work ,exceeding 1000EUR a year if there is no public transport.

Filled up at $3.47/gallon (0.92/liter or €0.69/l). Lowest in months.

This is not a normal price. I had a 20 cent discount from a supermarket. Prices here hover from $3.70-3.90.

Interestingly, I haven't seen $4 gas yet in 2013 and this is the time of the year where prices usually hit their peak. They then go down and bottom out by December or so, and then they go back up. This is the pattern that I've noticed over the years but it doesn't seem to be happening this year.
