Saw $2.29 (€0.49/liter) yesterday.

At this rate we should see prices less than $2 in 2-3 weeks if prices continue to drop.
I wonder how long this will last.

Cheapest for me was $1.59 in early 2009. I could fill up at around $15-16 at a quarter tank.

I started driving in 2004 when oil started to go up on it's march to $100 four years later. $2 gas was a shock back then!

The cheapest I ever saw was .29 cents a gallon when I started driving in 1969. But I was not the person gassing up the car. My dad was. Still the cheapest I ever paid was when I was stationed in the Philippines.

Last night on my way home I saw gas for $2.079 a gallon for the 10% ethanol blend.

That sounds incredibly cheap, but in reality is similarly expensive to gas today.

When adjusted for inflation, $ 0.29 in 1969 is similar to $ 1.82 in 2013. As shown, some Oklahoma gas stations are below that currently.

I remember sitting in my mother's car in a long gas line during the 1973 embargo. I would have been nine. The price went from whatever it was before into the 50s. There was a jump into the 90s in 1979 - can't remember the geopolitical reason for that - and that's where it was when I started paying for gas in the '80s. Well, that's where it was in New Jersey anyway....

Gasbuddy reports $ 1.68 per gallon in Oklahoma City. That's € 0.36 per liter. I just paid € 1.44 per liter in the Netherlands

Prices in Estonia are getting close to 1€/L, I'd say that for the end of next week, we should see prices even below 1€. Not that one company is already selling with that price

I'm sure you're right. I associate '79 with the U.S. embassy hostages, and I know that started in November, but the Iranian Revolution had been underway since spring.

€ 0.778 per liter. Half the price you'll pay in the Netherlands, despite similar income levels.

$1.949 USD/Gallon at 7-11 in Round Rock, TX. Never knew I'd see gas this cheap in my life ever again! Wish I had a shitload of money and a gas truck to fill it with this cheap gasoline.

These days though, USA and Canada fuel prices are always cheaper than Philippine fuel prices..........and this will be the case for decades to come (unless some new world order takes place or some unexpected event occurs)

I filled up on 95 in downtown Tallinn on Tuesday for €0.969 / l.

It felt very nice to fill up a 50 litre tank for €48.

All my "kids" are older than you!

After I was stationed in Subic, actually Cubi PT, I was stationed in San Diego. Regular unleaded on base was .55 cents a gallon for regular unleaded. That was in October 1977.

About a year before I was stationed in the Republika ng Pilipinas gas on base in Subic was less than .20 cents a gallon. President Marcos because of the effects of the Arab oil crisis in 1973 nearly doubled the fuel prices sometime in '74. I can't prove that but this is according to sailors that had been stationed in Subic for some time when I arrived in August of 1975.

Today I gassed up my car for a cool $1.99 a gallon for regular unleaded now a 10% ethanol blend.

Just got back (to my Mom's) from visiting relatives on Staten Island, New York. Lowest price seen in New Jersey, $2.139 in Elizabeth. $2.179 to $2.199 is typical. $2.859 at the one station we passed on Staten Island.

Radio report heard on the way says we can expect prices nationally to drop another 5 to 10 cents a gallon by New Year's, and that Missouri, at $1.989, is the first state to have an average price below $2 since 2009.

Unrelated, cash toll on the Goethals Bridge is now $14.00.
