The USA actually officially adopted metric system decades ago.
Even the "customary units" are legally defined with metric references (e.g. 1 inch = 25,4 mm)
It is just the US government never legally forced people to change habits, which I can't really argue with.

Perhaps the worst case is like Canada, where many things are always in Imperial units (anything to do with home construction, or food cooking) and other things metric

I'm not sure if there is much logic and easy to the metric system for normal people. 12 inches to foot, 3 feet to yard vs. 1 000 mm to metre is basically the same, the imperial is frankly easier (doing a calculation in your head based on 12 is a lot easier than based on 10, since it divides easier)

Of course not

12 divide by 2 = 6, by 3 = 4, by 6= 2 etc etc
What is 10 divide by 6 ?

Same could be said for 12 divided by 7..

Point being, to go from millimetre to centimeter (or any other metric unit) you always use (a multitude of) 10.

1000 mm is 100 cm (/10)
100 cm is 10 dm (/10)
10 dm is 1 m (/10)

As easy and logical as it gets

30 cent discount at an Avia fuel station in Amersfoort, Netherlands. A long queue has formed. Normally only 10 - 12, maybe 14 cents are given as discount.

I've seen Diesel priced around 0,97-0,99 Euro at some discount petrol stations in Austria about 2 weeks ago. This week-end the price at discount stations is around 1,03.

Yes for a while - WTI (US standard) is at 41,87 USD/bbl and Brent (Europe standard) at 44,56 USD/bbl, both went up today.

For gas prices, I did a little roadtrip this weekend (1 422 km)

Montreal, Canada prices hovering around $1,10 - $1,15 CAD/L
Cornwall, ON prices - $0,979 - 0,959 / L
Oakville, ON prices - $1,009/L
Stoney Creek, ON - $0,937/L (just tanked )

I'm not sure why but literally the week that gas prices started to go below $2, they shot back up 30-40 cents. Of course this is only like a $2-3 actual difference when gassing up, but it feels like $2 is the lowest prices are "allowed" to go here.

Last night on the way home from an errand I noticed one station had dropped it's price to $1.99 a gallon. Let's see how far the price goes down.

Saw this in Toronto
It typically is hovering 90 cents to $1.05
But it briefly went into 80's early this year and again just a month ago, but literally 89 cents then next day $1 again...
