I just saw US$1.79/US gallon for 87 pump octane (91 RON) unleaded gasoline in Sacramento, CA USA just today. That's around €0.42/liter based on the current exchange rate.

Paid $1.55 yesterday. Cheapest price I ever paid for gas (I started driving in 2007).

No need to take the bus then. $1.00 a gallon is 2,24SEK/L --0,23EUR/L

That's US$3.02/US gallon for 91 pump octane (95 RON) unleaded gasoline (based on the exchange rate on February 15, 2016). Really cheap by European standards (in much of western Europe, prices are easily double that due to steep fuel taxes).

B. Brod, Rep. of Srpska BiH, Nestro:
on last Wednesday: Super 95 - 1,69 BAM/L = 0,864 EUR/L
on last Friday: Super 95 - 1,65 BAM/L = 0,844 EUR/L

but on others I saw even for 1,55 BAM/L = 0,793 EUR/L (e.g. in Doboj).

It's indeed cheap by European standards, but Moldova is also a *very* poor country by European standards. Its GDP per capita is over 90% lower than the United States ($ 5,000).

The IMF ranks the GDP per capita (PPP) in Moldova 131st in the world, similar to countries like Sudan, Pakistan, Laos or Nigeria.

You do mean a litre... That's for the metrically challenged US residents.

Right now in my area unleaded regular a 10% ethanol blend is going for $1.49 to $1.55 a gallon.

By the way some stations call the 10% ethanol blend unleaded plus. They are both rated at 87 octane by US standards. Our premium fuel is rated at 92 octane.

Up a notch at the friendly neighborhood Sunoco today, from $1.859 to $1.899. 40 cents more for premium or plus or whatever they call it.

Today Venezuela increases the price of fuel.

91 > 1 Bs/L -----> 0.15$/L
95 (super) > 6 Bs/L ------> 0.95$/L

Before

91 > 0.071 Bs/L ------> 0.01$/L
95 (super) > 0.097 Bs/L -------> 0.02$/L

You have to just love the concept of having such high subsidies and low currency value that in hard currency the price rounds to 0.0 $

I've paid 79 a couple weeks ago in Hamilton area

But wait, last year (Feb 2015) I remember tanking at 85.x cents up in Brampton and in downtown Toronto (I want to say near Church and Dundas?) when I was on fumes still in high 90's (maybe $1...)

Even the Polish guys above... I was paying like 5,50+ PLN for 95 eurosuper typically and that only like 2 years ago, now 3,89 the Gorny Slansk, pretty much a similar decline. At the same time I was paying 1,65 EUR up in Germany and they're practically 1,10 EUR.

Montreal, Canada is the typical loser... I think they're around $1,059 and last year, $1,20 ish...

Meanwhile here is latest market report from the Canadian government:
http://www.nrcan.gc.ca/energy/fuel-p...-reports/18069

as shown the stability in gasoline market prices is interesting... average price of the week 92.9 cents, -1.6 cents from same week 2015. However crude oil dropped like a stone during the period!

But as seen here, there was a huge rise during the summer travel season:

I'm tempted to go pick up one of those 1000 L plastic chemical containers from industry and stock up on benzina...

The tax impact is also interesting to observe (mostly in a frustrating way)

An automated fuel station along N35 near Zwolle in the Netherlands. This is really cheap by Dutch standards.

€ 1.309 for Euro 95
€ 0.999 for Diesel

lately the price of fuel in my area has slowly crept upwards. Today it is running from..$1.69 up to $2.21 a gallon in some stations...That's quite a price variance for we Iowans.

LPG

The popularity of LPG / Autogas has tanked ( ) in recent years in the Netherlands. Over the last six years the sales of LPG declined by 40%.

The main reason cited is a relatively high tax compared to neighboring countries, though LPG is still significantly cheaper than gasoline, presently LPG costs around € 0.50 per liter while gasoline hovers around € 1.35.

Another factor is the high cost of conversion, it takes a few years for it to pay the investment back, and investing over € 1000 - 1500 is not something consumers like to do in economic uncertain times.

Some would argue that the low gasoline prices are of influence, which could be a factor, though LPG usage has been declining over a longer time, even when gasoline prices were very high. Increased fuel efficiency of gasoline-powered cars could be a major influence, as it isn't as profitable anymore to do a conversion. In the past an LPG conversion was profitable for almost any type of vehicle, regardless of your annual mileage.

Availability is not a problem. Approximately 2000 fuel stations offer LPG, usually almost any manned fuel station offers LPG. Nowadays it seems that only the cars that would be characterized as 'gas guzzlers' still use LPG, especially vintage American cars and pickup trucks.
