That's the reason why in the USA oil price declined by over 50% and only by 20% in Poland. The problem is that our petrol taxes are not proportional, but per quota. So that means that the amount of tax on petrol is the same, no matter what the crude oil market price is. Government still has to bite its chunk

Ultimately that's good for Poland.
It means that Poland won't create a economy, infrastructure and living arrangement based on cheap fuel which would leave it exceptionally vulnerable in times of scarcity.
Far better to place a strong value on fuel (through taxation) than to under price it.

Price keeps on dropping in Sweden. Another 0,10 SEK today on all fuels but E85. Lowest level since February 2005.

This morning in Casper, Wyoming gas is $1.18 per gallon. I don't even remember when it was this low.

So Wyoming pays the same price for one gallon of gas (in US dollars) then we pay for one litre (in euros)!

Today

Euro 95: 1,06 EUR/L
Diesel: 1,01 EUR/L

In some parts of Germay Diesel fell under 1 EUR/L , lowest price for 4 years.

Australia

Average price from the media today is AUD$1.07 per litre for regular unleaded.
In Brisbane and Melbourne the price is AUS$0.99 per litre. Diesel is about AUD$1.30

The AUD value is dismal at the moment , so the fuel equates to about 0.50 euros per litre.

Mark.

Anyone know what the oil price predictions are like for summer 2009? I hope they stay low for my two road trips...would save us tons of money!

General consensus seems to put the average barrel price at around $45 for the coming year so the retail price should remain pretty stable.
Of course anything can happen between now and summer 2009 (thats the Northern summer marki )

Finally saw a station below $2 today...$1.99/gal (€0.393/liter).

Still about 34 cents above the national average though.

If it keeps going down like this, probably yes.

Prices in Sweden can't go down much lower because the tax on gasoline is going up a bit at the beginning of the year!
