It's quoted from very right wing tabloid, however all what they say may happen.

Quote:
PETROL prices are set to reach £1.40 a litre, industry experts warned last night.
Increases in fuel duty and VAT will push up prices by 3.5p a litre in the next few days – raking in a £2million-a-day bonus for the Treasury.
But worse is to come, with soaring crude oil prices threatening to raise costs by 15.5p a litre for both petrol and diesel, analysts said.

Just filled up my Chevy Aveo yesterday (1/1/11) at a Shell station in Wesley Chapel, FL (small community near Tampa on Interstate 75 at FL 54 just north of the Interstate 275 terminus) and it costed me $3.02 a gallon for regular 87 grade gasoline.

By the way, I bought my Chevy Aveo back in April 2010 replacing a midsize Saturn Aura XE I used to have. Believe me, it costed me at least $30.00 to fill the tank up from half a tank! It costed me a lot more money when gas was above $4.00 a gallon.

Today I am prepared now that I have a small economy car, especially if gas goes way above the $4.00 a gallon mark and the fears of more than $5.00 a gallon here in the USA are realized.

I've yet to read any comments on gasoline prices in China? DO they have set prices or do they jump around?

They have set centrally-controlled prices, although iirc they've been raising them quite a bit in the past years. They adjust the prices about every 6 months. Heavily subsidized by the state still.
Last quote i've seen was a 5% raise last April, to about 0.24 yuan per liter for gasoline (€0.56/l - 2.75 USD/gallon).

During 2007, 91 octane "Normal" accounted for 26% of sales, so it wasn't really all that small; 2.6% of newly sold cars in 2010 in Germany can still use 91 octane...

All chains that still sell 91 octane in Germany have equalized pricing with 95 octane (currently sitting at around 1.47 to 1.49 €/l).

Around € 0,50 per liter would be the raw market price without taxes. Anything lower is subsidized.

Prices in Switzerland in CHF/liter. The table gives the min and the max.
Switzerland used to have(and probably still has) the cheapest fuel in Western Europe, however with the recent extremely strong swiss frank they don't appear that low anymore. For the info: 1 euro = 1,26 CHF.

BF95
Min : 1.53 - Aarwangen
Max : 1.795 - Schattdorf
BF98
Min : 1.61 - Couvet
Max : 1.76 - Meyrin
Diesel
Min : 1.61 - Aarwangen
Max : 1.9 - Les Bois

Is it just me or prices in Austria have risen considerably in past two months? In 2010 I used to find many stations with diesel prices below 1.20€... yesterday I could not find one below 1.30€, often the very same stations...

Bad news for Canadians... Regular grade (87 Octane rating), is expected to hit $1.50 CAD per L by the summer.

In Romania 95 octane has risen above the mark of 5 Ron. That's 1.17 euro/l. Quite much for our income.

0,24 yuan is around 3 eurocent. Are you sure about that price?

It was actually a raise by 0.24 yuan, not to 0.24 yuan.
