Euro 95: € 1,687 in the Netherlands.

That's almost $ 9 per gallon.

Woudn't it be cheaper for you to get a couple of friends, rent a oil tanker and send it to Saudi Arabia to get some petrol for your cars?

€1.609 to €1.619 in Germany yesterday.

Although most of price hike in Germany isn't Lybia but the E10 scam (which becomes even more ridiculous around here when you know that the regional refinery doesn't really sell any E10 yet...).

We'd also need a ferry - ship the cars outside territorial waters to the tanker, and fill up there - to save the various taxes and duties

Then when you come back police send you to jail because you don't pay taxes on fuel!

Wow.
Euro 95 has set another record here in Spain. It has already hit €1.30 per liter (Well, actually €1.299 ) here in Huesca. That is $6.757 per gallon.

There's one station in my neighborhood that I pass twice a day, so I keep my eye on the price. About a week and a half ago it was at $3.199 per gallon; it then dropped to $3.179. Since Libya started heating up it's gone up quickly to $3.359 (actually that's as of yesterday evening - don't know where it is today - most of that increase has actually been since about Wednesday....)

In liters, I guess that works out to about 88.5 cents U.S., up from about 83.5 a week and a half ago. Feel free to convert to the currency of your choice. :-)

Come on. Oli tycoons will use any reason they can to increase the oil and the gasoline prices. The reasons include Saddam, Gaddafi, Chavez, but soon the reasons will be "the sun storms", "the increase of distantce Earth - Moon", "the migration of the wales" and even "daylight saving time". As long as the oil companies are reporting huge proffits every year, any reason they're giving to justify the price increase is simply bull... If it wasn't for Gaddafy, it would have been something else...

The price in Germany went up to 1.6 EUR / liter in 2008 as well, by that time justified by the increased demand. Fact is that obviously, the oil companies want for a lng time to get the gasoline in Europe at 2 EUR / liter, simply because they can. And they will do it anyway...

At the beginning of the year, regular unleaded (87) ran about $3.25 a gallon in San Jose, CA. Then came all the unrest in Egypt & Libya that resulted in prices jumping 10 cents a day at one point so now that same gallon of gas costs $3.78 a gallon and it's still rising. If you car requires premium (91) you're looking at almost $4 a gallon. I've heard that diesel is now running $4.20 a gallon.
