I fully agree with Chris

Nice video!
Interesting: now a highway between AL and RKS, and 30 years ago crossing a border here was not possible. History is so strange...

Germany is not the hub of the universe, but here it's also "just" 2.5 m. Since the width is harmonised in the whole EU, I think you can speak about the 2.5 m hard shoulder as standard - at least for Europe.

Edit: But it's correct that a truck or a bus is allowed to be 2.55 m wide (or even 2.60 as exception). So the hard shoulders are not really wide enough for trucks or buses, but nonetheless the standard is 2.50 m.

Shoulder width varies wildly in Europe. From almost non-existent to as wide as 4 meters.

That's right. But I think newly build highways must be 2.50 m wide in the European Union. Maybe there a some exceptions for the latest member states... I'm currently searching for a realiable source about the official width for hard shoulders.

Excately. I can not agree more. For example, my father (living in Prishtina) was not able to see his family living in Tirana (mother, brother and sisters) for more than 30 years.

The 51.8 km include the 13.8 km of M-9. I know it's a bit incorrect, but it's difficult to fill the Infobox correct and since the M-9 is included in the course it logic to include it in the length, too.

The article is the work of myself and many other authors of Wikipedia.

How is "motorways" (plural) said in Kosovo?
One autoudhė --> Two ____?

No, autoudhė singular and autoudhė(t) plural. Example:

Quote:
* Njė autoudhė - A [one] motorway
* Disa autoudhė - a few motorways
* Autoudhėt gjermane janė tė shkėlqyeshme - German motorways are excellent

This reaches a great milestone in the integration of people between Kosova and Albania. It's just impossible to compare this situation today when we have modern highways on both sides of Albanian-Albanian (Kosovar) border and just twenty years ago we were hermetically isolated from each other.

I wish other parts of the region get to be connected through a modern network of roads sooner rather than later .

Btw, does anyone know if there is any so called bio-bridge in any part of the motorway to facilitate animals crossing between two areas of their, now divided, natural habitat?!

Thank you all for bringing those images of this road .

In the process of close integration of our road/transport systems I think Albania should seriously think of getting rid of the Italian style signage and adopt Kosovar version.

I am sure we will get there soon too .

actually it is YU version. However I am positive surprised that they didn't copy, Italian style from Albania.

The YU-Version, which you can still see partly on the Beograd-Nis Motorway (the only one motorway in the former yugoslav countries, which has the old signage), has quite big differences comparing to the croatian/kosovar style!
