Nice work, it looks much better than motorway in Albania.

As for Croatian-style signage: It is not just signage, but more or less all motorway elements which is very obviously seen in the pictures. This is because whole motorway was designed by Croatian company IGH and therefore motorway standards for Kosovo motorways were apparently copied from Croatian standards.

I have no problem with Croatian motorway standards in Kosovo. Croatian motorways are some of the best motorways in Europe.

That's usually done in a few weeks (although I see that the Albanian A1 doesn't work yet either). What I'm more surprised is that the motorway is already drawn.

The R7 motorway is already in google maps (map layer, without satellite images), copied one by one from Openstreetmap (my work).

Original (Openstreetmap): http://osm.org/go/xfiKDMws
Plagiarism (Google Maps): http://g.co/maps/d52c9

This edits are not done by Google. Some people copy OSM data and paste it to Google Map Maker…

Hi to everybody.
I'd like to ask two questions.
1)Is the expressway Prishtinė – Pejė still u/c? On the Google map only the section between Komoran and Balince is signed as a motorway.
2)According to earlier projects the Vėrmicė – Merdare motorway would be 116,8 km long, but in the contract with Bechtel is only 102,8 km. Is this an effect of change the route between Shllapuzhan and Prishtinė?

1)Expressway Prishtinė - Pejė is still u/c. More precisely, part between Sllatinė e Madhe and Balincė is U/C. Part between Balincė and Pejė is an old 1X1 highway. Between Prishtinė and Sllatinė e Madhe is an urban area, where the highway is 2X2, it has a narrow emergency lane (I think it is 2 meters wide), all the way to Prishtinė downtown highway is lit, but access is not controlled, and there are couple of same level intersections.

2) First it was planned the motorway to connect border of Kosovo to Albania with a border of Kosovo to Serbia. Later it was decided motorway to be build only to north of Prishtina from Albanian border. Section until the border to Serbia, is said, it is going to be built later (some 25-30 km).
Few kilometers were added to motorway because the route is changed, in order to avoid Duhla pass. This way distance between Prishtinė to Albania border is longer for some 15-20 km.

Hello and Welcome,

1. The Prishtinė-Pejė highway has been upgraded to expressway from Prishtinė for about 40km of the total 80km length. Hopefully we will see an upgrade of the other half of the highway and link Prishtinė with Montenegro with Expressway.

2. The motorway schedule has changed and the motorway will only reach to Besi, a small village north of Prishtinė, This motorway will then connect with motorway R6 which will run for 55km from Prishtinė to the border with FYROM and effectively connect to Skpoje. The Besi-Merdare section will begin when the Serbs accept to link Nis with Kosovo I believe. Because Kosovo will have acess to Pan-European Corridor X axis through FYROM, Kosovo will not need to extend the motorway from Besi to Serbia, Besi to Serbian border is only about about 20km anyway.

You can't copy open data to a commercial website without a reference… OSM is licenced under CC-BY-SA, so Google can't add a „© Google“, cause I'm not Google.

Yes, the majority of the map data are added from volunteers. You can edit the map data if you find an error.

Is anything known about the toll rates on the motorway? How works the closed toll system on the M-9 section?

Not much has been made public yet, other than the fact that there will be tolls on the motorway once the whole thing is finished. So, for now, there are no tolls on the motorway.

Currently M9 doesn't have any toll system, but once R7 connects to it, they will have to devise a system that will make it possible to move from R7 to M9 and back to R7 with a single ticket.

Perhaps on the section that R7 will connect to, but I doubt there'll be tolls to use M9 as such (non-R7 sections).
