I am suprised that Kosovo has the 130kmh limit considering all neighbouring states and most countries close by have 120kmh. I think only Croatia and Slovenia have the 130kmh limit in the Balkans.

Bulgaria leads with 140 km/h. Greece has 130 km/h speed limit, as well.

Yes Bulgaria has the 140kmh but I am peetty certain the Greeks have the 120kmh speed limit.

PS: 140 limit is silly considering the mentally challenged people that reside in the Balkans.

Kosovo doesn't stand better in terms of traffic accidents either.

Only the number of people I know, who have bought their driving licenses, gives me chills!

Id say 120 is optimal speed for Kosovo motorways, considering how irresponsible drivers in Kosovo can be.

Romania also has 130 km/h. When did Macedonia raise speed limit from 120 to 130 km/h? At least that's what the Slovenian automobile association says.

The worst driving standards are in Montenegro. Serbs, Kosovo Albanians and FYROManians are pretty bad too. Personally I would like to see Kosovo adopt Albanias 110kmh. Most people do about 20kmh over anyway... it would reduce the number of people doing 150 and 160.

I agree with that "categorization".
But you can't compare motorways in Albania and KiM.
In Albania you have only Rreshen-Kalimash part of expressway (almost motorway), but on the other side you see full standard motorway stretch from Vrbnica to P-P road, which looks much better.

I agree that A1 in Albania and R7 in RKS should not be compared.

Motorway is when you have an emergency lane 2,70m wide everywhere except in tunnels and bidges, and that's simply not the real situation there. Look the KiM side from Vrbnica, that's a real motorway.
A1 is excellent mountain road, anyway...

In my country roads with this profile are officially classified as motorways, to bring some perspective. In Germany there are autobahns with no shoulders at all. With that in mind, the road in the picture sure looks like a motorway to me.
