But as Bechtel Enka seem to get all the motorway jobs in Kosovo I would guess that there could be more development on this front when the most sections on R6 are done.
So that means there will be nothing progress on R7 part until R6 is finished?

This is only my guess because I have not seen any official news about it, but I think it depends on what tools and trucks they need to continue the R7 and as soon they are not needed anymore on R6 they could probably continue using them at R7 before the hole completion of R6. If the government stick with Bechtel Enka that is.

In meantime a new coverage of the Prishtinė - Pejė M9/N9, near Kijevė.
The first minutes are about complains because the works has been delayed and different excuses and promises from the officials. But around min 2:20 you can see a good pictures of the pave that does split from the current M9/N9. Even though it has two lanes and a hard shoulder in each direction it is not classified as highway/motorway but expressroad. At least today.

Some different information from highway construction from Enka company.
http://www.enka.com/file/2016/05/ENK..._MARCH2016.pdf

Among those the Route 6 in Kosovo.

And according to that tabel there will not be built any tunnels around the Kacanik region. According to posts from members in the local highway thread for Kosovo who knows the terrain it is a poor choice.
It is a mountains area and the amount of bridges does not seem to be enough. Or the length of the total amount.

R6 seems to be delayed. It was announced to be completed by late 2017 but the table indicates "(ongoing) 2018).

I think it says ongoing because they compare it to other finished construction.
But you could be right, the section from the R7/R6 interchange to Lipjan should have been constructed by now and opened. It is around 10-12km. That would have cleared the traffic around Prishtina and provided a bigger tranzit area.

And according to officials the construction are going according to the planned timetable and even faster? but noone really know what that is, except the year when all should be done. Late 2017 or january 2018.

The pictures that have been posted so far is mainly flat terrain so the actual hard work is in the end. There is also some new pictures on the website for the project, but they dont actually provide with useful information so I did not add them here.

However there is a possibility that they are delaying completing any section in case of early elections later on this year, and open it just in time to gain some extra points. But this is just hypothetical.

I've been driven there two years ago. Building a motorway there in the valley is insane. Of course, you can do that, but I doubt that you can make that happen with proper curves etc.

There's a railway in the valley and you can see how many bridges and tunnels they built for that railway. And motorway is much wider...

Of course you can make it somehow happen. In Greece they made similar things when building the first motorways. And then decades later all those sharp turns and bottlenecks were replaced with tunnels and bridges...

I am not happy as well with this solution. Not happy at all.

It seems that the railway will be displaced, and, they will intervene/displace as well the river bed to make room for the motorway, railway and the river in the bottom of the gorge. So, basically, it looks that the motorway will follow the flow of river Lepenc in this gorge. And the speed limit may be 80-100 km/h in this 10-12 km long part of the motorway.

Hi, are there any plans to connect Ferizaj and Duhel on R7 highway with an eventual expressway?

I believe R6 motorway will go right through Ferizaj or at least pass close by. I think this section of motorway is nearing completion.

Are they neighboring sections or will a gap remain in-between? Where are these sections, can you show it on a map?

This would be 20km: > click <.
Or this: > click <?
Maybe...: > click < and > click <?
Or: > click < and > click <?

They will be neighouring eachother towards the south starting in at the interchange between R7 and R6 that was opened a year ago.

Your links was basically correct with the first section going to Lipjan, though I am not sure exactly where it will end because lack of satellite images at that spot.
Stretch 1

The second stretch will go from Lipjan where the first one ends towards Babush where the exit is near the current national road between Prishtina and Ferizaj.
Stretch 2

New google maps picture over some roads in Kosovo.

The picture below is outside Kijevė between Prishtina and Peja. At the right corner where the picture is cut is where this expressroad continues on new ground and are splited from the old M9 which until here was only expanded from a 1 track in each direction to 2 tracks in each direction.

https://www.google.se/maps/@42.57113.../data=!3m1!1e3

From there on it will probably also be built with motorways standards and have controlled entrance and exit points.

I can confirm that the segment Gjergjice – Kijevė, part of M9 is almost completed. Only lines in some parts of the road need to be draw.

However, two bridges are not completed. It seems that we have, for the first one expropriation problems, while for the second one dispute between contracting company and state.
