Ask them, they have expressed interest.

If Republika Srpska will guarantee for investment I dont see reason why Chineese wouldnt be interested.

Because there's a catch: Afaik the Federation has no plans to extend that motorway on their territory from Mliniste to Croatian border. And Croatia also has no plans so far... Maybe if the Chinese pay also those other two parts... Who knows

I know... But you can see the problems with different interests at Gradiska with the missing bridge and road in Croatia

We in BiH can't do anything about it. Croatia's policy toward all neighbours is not friendly at all.

It's a nice theory, but who is going to sit in huge jams at Gradiska and wherever the other crossing would be? The HR/non-EU crossings are already a nightmare in summer in many places. The time saving would be minimal in the end, and I doubt Republika Srpska can afford to make the tolls so low as to be worth taking that route instead.

The Federation obviously isn't going to be interested as well, as they need to put all their money into the A1 instead. Sure, if the Chinese pay for everything in exchange for a long concession, it works - but I can't see that happening with a road that connects Banja Luka to nothing.

By the way, who is responsible for the border crossing infrastructure in BiH? Is it the entities, or the border police?

Actually Federation already expressed interest for this motorway, but it is all in distance future.

They did? That's surprising - I would've thought that after the A1, their biggest priority would be to try and get Tuzla connected.

I guess they have expressed interest to have it built by somebody without their money Motorway to Tuzla and expressway to Travnik (which is really needed!) are really the priorities for FBiH

So they definitely need Chinese money in that case

(For those not in the know, Canton 10 is very Croatian, so a road connecting the very rural Canton 10 to Split would be very welcome there.)

They are wrong. There is not enough business for Slovenia-Zagreb - Split to the west, Banja Luka - Split in the middle and Budapest - Osijek - Sarajevo - Mostar east of it.

The Chinese would once build _anything_ 'guaranteed' by a government but maybe they changed their minds after Venezeula stung them for $40bn recently. Stay away from the Chinese if there are people to be fed.

EU - Croatia should connect Banja Luka to the Croatian A3 for sure. Very small gap and a bridge on the Sava is all that is to be done.

You're wrong; we need bridge over river Sava and connection to Croatian A3, not A1. Typo, I presume?
