Drive down "January 9th" motorway...

I gotta say, the consortium of Serb Republc firm "Integral" and Macedonia's "Granit" did a thoroughly awesome job here
Wouldn't mind one bit to see them awarded contracts on various future road projects in Serbia & Montenegro

That video is so far the longest one even though it's missing a few more kilometers of the road. Now there's more images that Integral Engineering posted but I still need a few posts..

Why the did build a bridge over Bosna river that ends in the bushes if they don't plan to continue building in direction of Vc corridor for many years?

They'll start doing Vc most likely in 2018, after the second section of BL-Doboj is complete. The first part will be an interchange in Doboj, then onwards and upwards.

That's what I had on my mind as well. They are looking at the options.

Croatia, Bosnia to Discuss Key Bridge Project

Croatian and Bosnian officials will meet to discuss the construction of a long-delayed new bridge linking the two countries which is important for the development of Bosnia's Serb-dominated entity Republika Srpska.

The long-delayed construction of the new bridge which will connect the city of Gradiska in Bosnia’s Republika Srpska entity to the Croatian municipality of Stara Gradiska across the River Sava will be discussed by the Bosnian and Croatian authorities at a meeting organised by the European Investment Bank in Zagreb next week.
"The meeting will be organised on September 22 in Zagreb," Fadil Mandal, a spokesperson for the Bosnian Ministry of Transport and Communications, told BIRN in a written statement.
The construction of the bridge is of primary importance for the infrastructure of Republika Srpska, especially in the light of the recent inauguration of a highway connecting two of the major cities in the entity, Banja Luka and Doboj, the Bosnian Serb Ministry of Transport and Communications told newspaper Nezavisne Novine.
"The highway from Gradiska to Banja Luka and from Banja Luka to Doboj will only have its full meaning after the building of this bridge," the ministry said.

Brcko bypass road path now visible from space
It's a crucial, 18km long artery, being built at a cost of ~30 million euros.

Serbian, Serb Republic ministers tour the construction site of new "Bratoljub" bridge on Drina river, connecting towns of Bratunac & Ljubovija. They say expected completion date is November 1st but I sort of doubt that

They just said they're doing something to the river first, and they expect to finish doing that by the end of the year. The whole project should be finished by the end of 2017

Little something about additional plans for motorway construction in Serb Republic, following the completion & opening of the Banja Luka - Doboj motorway.

Google-translation is a bit clumsy but you get the gist of it...

Quote:

Dusan Topic, Director of "Serbian Republic of Highways," said to have certain things in connection with the construction of the bridge over the Sava River near Gradiska shifted from a standstill, and it was agreed that the furthest month formed a joint commission for the preparation of tender documents.

He hopes that BiH or RS, will lose 6.8 million received from the EU for the project, but that the final decision about it by the EU will be made in mid-October. Speaking about what else is there to begin construction work on the bridge near Gradiska, Topic said that Croatia must issue a building permit, which can be completed in six months and to provide money or to just send a letter that would be acceptable for European Commission, which is the delegation expressed their willingness to this project, worth 64.7 million euros, financed with 85 percent.

NN: Are you satisfied with the meeting held in Zagreb?

Topic: Before the meeting I was optimistic after the meeting that optimism has waned a bit, but good. The reason for a meeting is a grant that we received from the European Commission of the funds for the Western Balkans and to 6.8 million. Since nothing concrete has happened in this project, there was a possibility that this money is wasted, because nobody wants to hold it when not in use, since there are other projects and in this case, divert funds from our project to another.

NN: So are we going to run out of these 6.8 million?

Topic: I think we will. This is a short-term goal to preserve the grant, and the long term is that it "pushed" to actually doing the project. In order to preserve the grant, it is necessary that Croatia any time soon apply for funds. At a meeting in Zagreb, in addition to representatives of the European Commission, were the representatives of the three funds, who said that funds may be spilling over from one to the other so it is only necessary that the Croatian government, when constituted, writes a satisfactory letter to the European Commission to that money was approved. I believe, in addition to this meeting, it is much more important pressure, communication, which Brussels will have directly with the Croatian Government.

NN: How many Croats need the money?

Topic: Exactly 64.7 million total. Of these, 11.8 million euros for the half bridge, 40.8 million for the first phase of the road and 12.1 million for the second phase of the road. The European Commission is ready to finance in the amount of 85 percent, but Croatia has not yet been applied. What is the real reason, I do not know, but certainly there were "wrangling" between Zagreb and Sarajevo around the peninsula and around the bridge near Svilaj and it takes years. The European Commission has this posmatala side, but now is involved in this and I believe that through its pressure this project will be successful. RS has provided money for the entire project for construction of bridge near Gradiska.

NN: In Croatia, there has been a change, the SDP is now in opposition, HDZ will have power. How this may affect some things unblock?

Topic: The meeting in Zagreb was assistant HDZ minister who will, in all likelihood remain. He was positive, but again in a way that is resolved Peninsula, Svilaj, so now can i Gradiska. If there is a will, for the six months may be issued a building permit, which is in Croatia condition for the tender, but what is most important is that the parallel is working on the construction permit and obezbjeđeivanju funds by the Croatian. As a first sign of good faith I sought to form a committee for drafting the tender documents and to do that, and we were assured that it will be formed as soon as it constitutes the Croatian government, the longest for a month.

NN: The next meeting of the month. What then can be expected?

Topic: On it we'll see if we get anything agreed or not. Meanwhile, the European Commission should take a decision on this our grant, sometime in mid-October should decide. Also, Croatia has given assurances that it will provide funds for this project and I think that those in the background communication with Brussels to speed up, because I think that, if the European Commission does not engage actively in it, nothing came of it.

NN: Recently opened for traffic the highway from Prnjavor to Doboj. When can we expect the completion of work on the section of Banja Luka to Prnjavor?

Topic: Our goal is that by the end of next year, finish, and then points out the term. It's done a lot of work on the buildings, for example. four great object of the 300-400 meters are practically completed and it is good that this is done immediately.

NN: Is it anything to Corridor Vc through the RS?

Topic: We have stopped previously announced call for public-private partnerships. Obviously, our environment quite risky for private partners to invest in the long-term period. Now we think that we're going again in credit debt from the EBRD to start, and later to the law included the European Investment Bank.

NN: What is the value of this project?

Topic: The great project. Total 46.3 kilometers from Doboj Jug to Vukosavlje and it is estimated that all is worth about 450 million euros. The complex's route, going through the valley of the river Bosna, has two tunnels near Doboj, we Doboj and Modrica six mini-hydropower plants that had to be taken into account when the project is done, this is a little more expensive all. The next year we plan to EBRD sign the first contract to build a road from Johovac to Doboj, to the loop with access to Doboj.

The next priority connection with Serbia

NN: Vucic at the opening of the highway from Prnjavor to Doboj announced linking Serbia and RS highway. Are you doing something in this project?

Topic: The next priority, at least for preparing the documents, the highway to Bijeljina. Serbia needs to make a tender from Novi Sad to Ruma with a tunnel under the Fruska Gora Mountain, and there is the logic cuts the highway Zagreb Belgrade and going to Sabac and Valjevo and comes to the Drina. There is a sense that from our side to extend in the future and connect with our room, just to Vukosavlje - Brcko - Bijeljina - Drina still in Serbia.

NN: What is the value of this project?

Topic: We can only tentatively say that for 32 kilometers from the border of Brcko District, near Bijeljina Drina to be some 240 million euros. This is the starting price.

Motorway Doboj-Prnjavor can be used for free until the End of the Year

The newly built section of the motorway “January 9” can still be used for free and that will probably not change by the end of this year, when the toll system will be introduced. However, the toll price is still unknown.

The Ministry of Transportation and Communications of the RS stated that the toll system on the section of the motorway Doboj-Prnjavor is still not in function because they wanted to allow all citizens to use this motorway without any fees for a certain period of time.

With the exception of the USA, non-motorway roads are discussed in the motorway threads. They all ought to be renamed to the more generic 'roads' as it's misleading to use 'motorways' and then discuss all types of roads in the thread.

However if this isn't in or about RS, then it's in the wrong place.

All threads are called "road infrastructure" but this thread is called "Motorways" for any reason (or by accident)...

Brcko is not part of the two entities but self-governing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Br%C4%8Dko_District.
