Indeed, I'm fairly sure that work on site won't be starting before 2014/2015 owing to the forthcoming appeals. Whatever, there's no rush, we're used to being patient in this country...Rigaud & co can carry on slowing down the project (once more) if that makes their miserable lives more 'exciting'... Apart from gaining a bit time, there's nothing else they can do.

While the demolition phase of the Hall1 is said to begin this month, the association "Le Collectif contre la Tour Triangle" is now officially attacking the project. They appealed on 4 June against the restructuring of the Hall 1 in the Parc des Expositions (Porte de Versailles) where the Tour Triangle is to be built.

Some other appeals are to come soon the Collectif contre la Tour Triangle says, in particular against the P.L.U. revision (Plan Local d'Urbanisme) necessary to build the tower.

In red, the part of the Hall1 to be demolished to make way for the Tour Triangle.

The Conseil de Paris will examinate next week whether the Triangle's construction can be launched or not. If they validate it, Paris' new landmark will see its construction starting this summer.

The Conseil de Paris will have to make a decision by taking into account the opponents's gripes which are among others & according to them, the Triangle's 'opacity', a so-called 'lack of dialogue' or again the transportation & traffic conditions...

To be continued...

The Conseil de Paris validates the PLU revision

Yesterday, the Conseil de Paris validated the Plan Local d'Urbanisme with 87 votes in favor of it & 73 votes against it.

The result was much closer than expected as several political parties such as EELV (the Greens) / the Parti de Gauche / le MoDem / the UMP (right party) & the UDI (yet in favor of Triangle so far!) decided to change sides 'suddenly' owing to the forthcoming local elections...

This vote is a milestone as the PLU revision was compulsory to allow the construction of a tall building.

The partial demolition of the Hall1 is now imminent but we're yet to know whether it can start or not because the associations opposed to Triangle are obvilously willing to appeal against the PLU.

this tower will not be built in the historic center near on notre dame or the eiffel tower but on the limits of paris in front of the ring road.....in front of the suburbs

Here's a great find by our comrade Charpentier.

This map shows all the spots where Triangle will be visible from (180m ---> in red / 140m ---> in yellow / Selected vantage points ---> circles):

In comparison, this other map shows the spots (in red) where the Eiffel Tower (324m) is visible from:

Those new renders below show how discreet Triangle will be:

Too bad, I will want to see it from city center
I've read in the previous page that it's a 500 millions euros project ?! Ain't it uge for an office building of this size ? (maybe we could expect some quality)

I feels like this building is in the middle of nowhere - like in the middle of an industrial site. I actually dont mind the design. I think this would look much better in La Defense or even the City centre...

Built here and it will be forgotten and not as iconic. But i can see both sides of the argument.

Forgotten by the 6 million visitors that come to the Parc des Expositions each year, where the tower will stand right in the middle, forgotten by the 270,000 daily drivers that pass on the busiest european urban motorway, where the tower will stand right next

Is the black lowrise going to be torn down for this or is it being built next to it?
