Sorry to drag this thread up, but I think Bic Runga deserves a mention here. She is, in my opinion, one of New Zealand's best.

Midnight Yuff are pretty good. Their lyrics let them down in my book.
Real pompous absurd shit about silver spoons and crimson moons. ML cant take that seriously. Re Ladyhawke, I think she's a breath of fresh air. Recognising the fact she's autistic and has lots of trouble dealing with the music world. All she really wants to do is write and perform- comes across as very aloof and awkward. Music Awards night was telling, she won just about everything (except best gangsta rap CD) yet pretty much only gave the same speech 124 times over. Good on her but... Upcoming Concerts and Festivals
Anyone going to attend any concerts that on coming our way? Looks like we are quite spoiled this summer with Green Day, AC/DC, Them Crooked Vultures, Faith No More, Fleetwood Mac, The Pixies, Al Green, and a ton more that escape me right now.
I'm going to Faith No More (saw them twice in the 90's) and hopefully will see Fleetwood Mac in New Plymouth at the Bowl of Brookland (fantastic venue if you've never been). Also will be going to the Big Day Out and the Laneways Festival at Britomart Square featuring Echo and the Bunnymen. ![]()

I will be seeing Dave Dobbyn in a couple of weeks and then Green Day at the Vector Arena in December.
Will be suitably liquored before, during and after said shows

I'll be at Pearl Jam on the 27th at Mt Smart and Green Day in Dec at Vector. Really wanted to get Pixies tickets but couldn't stretch the budget. So many good acts coming through these days it's great.

[/QUOTE] My wife went to see Fleetwood Mac two weeks ago in Manchester she was not impressed. We saw them twice in NZ,Western Springs (the mix was shite as they had got in late from Aus and didn't do a full sound check) and Althletic Park where they were arguing on stage all night and all but Stivie got of as soon as the could leaving her on stage byherself. My brother produced Faith No Mores vid for the 'I'm easy' single way back. |
