I think there was once a rotating beacon like a lighthouse, yes. Saw with my own eyes regularly from my home. But I dont seem to see it nowadays?

I see it flashing, not sure if it were just a lamp turning on and off or a swingning beacon.

This is the one that rises in front of my hometown
![]() It is named Cordouan. Height 68m, I don't know if it makes it taller than Bedok's one, but I have to say I prefer its design ![]() Building of the first lighthouse began in 1584 and ended in 1611. Later on, the lighthouse was rebuilt, keeping the 3 lower stories. It was finished in 1789. It stands on a rock 8km away from land, and can only be accessed by boat when the sea level is low. The light can be seen 40km away. More details and pics: http://perso.wanadoo.fr/cordouan/Cordouan.htm |

I really wonder if Bedok Lighthouse is the tallest operational lighthouse in the world...

@ RafflesCity-
![]() @redstone- That would make Marine Tower one of the highest lighthouses in operation. |
