I know this is wierd ,but is this considered Art Deco ,or rather a blend of Art Deco and Chinese?

This is one of two stone lion sculptures 'guarding' the entrance to the Bank of China Building.

No ,the Ford Factory is out-of-bounds.Just right-click the image ,go to 'properties' and you'll see where it is from.

By the way ,for fans of the Parkview Square ,The Unbeatables 3 would be shown on Channel 8 every Sunday at 7pm.The PVS was portrayed as the stunning casino headquarters and many scenes were shot in its luxurious and grand lobby.

Out of bounds? Why so?

Parkview Square is fabulous! Definitely among my favorites!

As for that lion guarding the Bank of China, redstone: pure art deco I would say!

I'm sorry, I sort of lost track of this thread for a while.

Why is that poor Ford factory on the previous page in such sad shape? Any plans for a rehab & reuse project? I sure hope so!

You sure got THAT right, Raffi!

Parkview Place just achieves the status of "very handsome building" in my mind, and when a building does that, I don't care about its height!

The Ford Factory was the Japanese HQ during WWII in Singapore.

The last tenant moved out several years ago ,it seems.

Plans were announced last year to turn it into a war museum.

It is barely visible from the main road ,Bukit Timah Road.It also has a sinister reputation of being haunted.

Info on the Ford Factory and investigation works of the reported hauntings of the building

Does Parkview have alot of glass?

I've never seen glass and art deco mixed up like that.

Yes! To me, Parkview Square (tall & in my favorite Art Deco style) and the Fullerton Hotel (low, extremely effective reuse of an old building) are TOPS in Singapore!
