I looooooooooooooooooove Fairuz!!!! She's the GREATEST artist EVER!!! Her songs are stunning!!!! And never get old!!! I mean really, Fairuz represents insouciance, joy of living, pleasure...etc (even if she has a lot of sad songs)

What an amazing woman!

I think one of the most appealing things about Fairouz is her myth, and legend. And what I mean by that is ....

Not only are all her songs about longing, and loss. But she comes from a golden time in Lebanon's history. Her Lebanon does not exist anymore, we know nothing about it except from lyrics and pictures. Considering how Beirut has made Binary's of its population topography, alienated its new generation, and forged new environments. Fairouz is essentially a woman without country, our lebanon is the equivalent of a foreign country to her.

But on top of that, we know nothing about her, not her escapades, not her interviews, not where she was yesterday, or where she will be tomorrow. She is a figure we only see through smoke screens. As elusive and distant as the Beirut that once was.

Beirut is Fairouz, As Fairouz is Beirut. And I miss both very dearly.

Guys,i keep listening to this song,ESPECIALLY,from 1:25 part till the end,HUNDREDS OF TIMES,and i am never satisfied,NEVER.

I am not exaggerative or anything,but if i was to pick up a human being to worship,it would be FAIROUZ.
