Thai convention bureau hosts Hanoi exhibition roadshow

The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) is joining with the Department of Export Promotion (DEP) and the private sector to organise its first roadshow to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam next week.


The roadshow _ to be held from Oct 27 to Oct 30 _ is aimed at boosting Thailand's competitiveness in the regional exhibition industry and developing it as a leading exhibition destination.


Supawan Teerarat, a TCEB exhibition director, said that around 10 Thai companies would participate in the roadshow. He said it would be an opportunity for Thai and Vietnamese buyers and sellers to exchange information and do business. The TCEB will act as a intermediary and also hopes to strengthen the relationship between Thailand and Vietnam.


More than 130 investors and trade exhibitors from 40 organisations in Viet nam have confirmed attendance at the roadshow. The TCEB is running a promotional campaign entitled 100-a-Head, through which exhibitors will receive US$100 per person if they can attract at least 15 people.


Ms Supawan said Asian counties would focus on doing business together during the global recession and the roadshow is a great opportunity for both Thai and Vietnamese investors.


Thailand and Vietnam had bilateral trade estimated at $5 billion in 2007, in which Thai exports to Vietnam were valued around $4.08 billion, compared with $3.09 billion in 2006.


Nguyen Thanh Hung, the chief Vietnam trade representative and commercial counsellor, said the Vietnamese economy had grown continually, achieving 8.48% GDP growth in 2007.


He added that Vietnam welcomed foreign trade investors and has a key policy of transforming itself from a highly centralised economy into a market-oriented economy.


In the first seven months of this year, Vietnam's total foreign investment capital was $57.2 billion. It expects to receive between $95 and $100 billion by year-end, compared with only $20.7 billion last year.


Thailand's total investment in Vietnam in the first nine months of 2008 was $4 billion, compared with only $1.68 billion in 2007. Thailand is ranked sixth in Asia in terms of its bilateral trade with Vietnam, which includes petroleum, energy, and electronic products.


Ms Supawan described aggressive marketing campaigns as crucial amid the world economic slowdown. She added that the TCEB had to focus more on the Asian market because Europe is facing a recession.


In 2009, the TCEB has a budget of 10 million baht for a roadshow to Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, and Indonesia.

แห่ซื้อซองศูนย์ประชุม18ราย

ศูนย์ประชุมเชียงใหม่ เนื้อหอม รมว.ท่องเที่ยวฯ เผยผู้รับเหมาแห่ร่วมประมูล 18 ราย หวังเปิดทันปี ’53

นายวีระศักดิ์ โควสุรัตน์ รมว.ท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา เปิดเผยว่า ขณะนี้มีบริษัท ผู้รับเหมาก่อสร้างรายใหญ่ ทั้งกลุ่มทุน ในประเทศและต่างประเทศ สนใจยื่นซื้อแบบก่อสร้างโครงการศูนย์การประชุมนานาชาติ จ.เชียงใหม่ แล้ว 18 ราย เช่น บริษัท อิตาเลียนไทย ช.การช่าง ซิ-โนไทย เบญจมาศ เนาวรัตน์พัฒนาการ และบริษัท ฟินเท็กซ์ แอสคอน ซึ่งถือว่ามากกว่าเป้าหมายที่ตั้งไว้ โดยจะปิดการซื้อแบบโครงสร้างในวันที่ 31 ต.ค. นี้

หลังจากนั้นจะตรวจสอบคุณสมบัติ ผู้ยื่นแบบฯ เบื้องต้น โดยเฉพาะประวัติการรับเหมาก่อสร้างโครงการรัฐที่ต้องเคยรับงานที่มีมูลค่าไม่ต่ำกว่า 850 ล้านบาท/โครงการ เพื่อป้องกันการหนีงานก่อสร้างโครงการ และในช่วงปลายเดือน พ.ย. บริษัทที่เข้าร่วมประมูลโครงการ ต้องผ่านการพิจารณาว่าจ้างด้วยระบบอีออกชันของกระทรวงการคลัง ซึ่งคาดว่าในวันที่ 4 ธ.ค. จะได้รายชื่อบริษัทชนะการประมูลโครงการดังกล่าว

“ผู้รับเหมาต้องซื้อแบบประมูลโครงการในราคา 7 หมื่นบาท ชี้วัดได้ว่ามีผู้สนใจจำนวนมาก ซึ่งที่ผ่านมาค่อนข้างกังวลว่าจะมีผู้สนใจน้อย เพราะอาจกระทบต่อระยะเวลาการเลือกผู้รับเหมาได้” นายวีระศักดิ์ กล่าว

ทั้งนี้ หลังจากได้บริษัทที่ชนะรับเหมาก่อสร้างโครงการแล้ว กระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวฯ จะตรวจสอบคุณสมบัติอีกครั้ง ก่อนทำสัญญาว่าจ้างร่วมกัน คาดว่าจะเริ่มลงเสาเข็มได้ในต้นปีหน้า พร้อมเปิดให้บริการได้ประมาณปลายปี 2553 หรือต้นปี 2554 โดยในการประเมินราคาค่าก่อสร้างครั้งหลังสุด เมื่อเดือน พ.ค. ที่ผ่านมา รัฐบาลได้อนุมัติงบประมาณ 2,200 ล้านบาท ซึ่งอาจปรับเปลี่ยนได้เพื่อให้สอดคล้องกับราคาต้นทุนค่าวัสดุก่อสร้าง

เล็งของบผุดศูนย์ประชุมเชียงใหม่เพิ่ม2.8พันล. วัสดุก่อสร้างพุ่ง"บรรหาร"หวั่นโครงการสะดุด

นายวีระศักดิ์ โควสุรัตน์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา เปิดเผยว่า กระทรวงเตรียมทำหนังสือถึงสำนักงบประมาณ เพื่อขอเพิ่มวงเงินการก่อสร้างศูนย์ประชุมและแสดงสินค้านานาชาติจังหวัดเชียงใหม่อีกครั้ง หลังจากได้มีการประเมินราคาค่าก่อสร้างใหม่แล้วพบว่าอยู่ที่ประมาณ 2,600-2,800 ล้านบาท เพิ่มขึ้นจากเดิมที่ได้กำหนดไว้ที่ 2,200 ล้านบาท

"วงเงินเดิมได้ประเมินไว้ตั้งแต่ที่ราคาค่าวัสดุก่อสร้างยังไม่ได้ปรับตัวขึ้น แต่ตอนนี้ได้มีการปรับตัวขึ้นมาก ดังนั้นนายบรรหาร ศิลปอาชา ในฐานะประธานคณะกรรมการติดตามเร่งรัดพัฒนาการท่องเที่ยว จึงได้แนะนำให้เร่งของบประมาณเพิ่ม เพราะหากมีการตั้งราคากลางไว้ที่ 2,200 ล้านบาทแล้วปรากฏว่ามีการเสนอราคาที่สูงกว่านี้ ก็จะทำให้การดำเนินโครงการต้องหยุดชะงักทันที"

นายวีระศักดิ์กล่าวว่า สำหรับความคืบหน้าของการดำเนินงานขณะนี้มีผู้ซื้อซองเพื่อเข้าร่วมประกวดแล้ว 18 ราย เช่น บริษัท ช.การช่าง จำกัด (มหาชน) บริษัท อิตาเลียนไทย ดีเวล๊อปเมนต์ จำกัด(มหาชน) บริษัท ชิโน-ไทย เอ็นจิเนียริ่ง แอนด์ คอนสตรัคชั่น จำกัด (มหาชน) บริษัท ซินเท็ค คอนสตรัคชั่น จำกัด(มหาชน) บริษัท สี่พระยาก่อสร้าง จำกัด และบริษัท แอสคอน คอนสตรัคชั่น จำกัด (มหาชน) เป็นต้น ซึ่งหลังจากนี้ก็จะให้บริษัทที่สนใจเข้ายื่นซอง และประมูลผ่านระบบอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ (อี-ออคชั่น) คาดว่าจะได้บริษัทที่จะเข้ามาดำเนินการภายในสิ้นปีนี้ และเพื่อให้การดำเนินงานรวดเร็วมากยิ่งขึ้น ได้สั่งการให้นางสาวศศิธารา พิชัยชาญณรงค์ ปลัดกระทรวงฯตั้งคณะกรรมการร่างขอบเขตงาน (ทีโออาร์) เพื่อหานิติบุคคลมารับหน้าที่บริหารศูนย์ประชุมไว้ก่อนที่การก่อสร้างจะแล้วเสร็จ โดยคาดว่าจะได้นิติบุคคลดังกล่าวประมาณเดือนมีนาคม-เมษายน 2552 หรือกลางปีหน้าเป็นอย่างช้า

นายวีระศักดิ์ กล่าวถึงนิติบุคคลดังกล่าวว่า คุณสมบัติเบื้องต้นจะต้องมีความสามารถด้านการทำตลาดระดับนานาชาติ บริหารจัดการอาคารขนาดใหญ่ได้ มีทักษะเรื่องการเงินดี มีประสบการณ์มาบ้าง เพราะตามแผนงานภาคเอกชนที่จะมาบริหารศูนย์ประชุมต้องไปลงทุนเพิ่มด้วยในบางส่วน เพราะภาครัฐจะลงทุนเฉพาะอาคารเท่านั้น โดยคาดว่าการจ้างนิติบุคคลมาบริหาร จะอยู่ในรูปแบบการให้สัมปทาน ส่วนระยะสัมปทานจะกำหนดอีกครั้ง

Chiang Mai contract to be awarded soon

A construction contract is expected to be signed within this year for the long-delayed convention hall in Chiang Mai, according to Weerasak Kohsurat, the Tourism and Sports Minister. He said the project had attracted heavy attention, with 18 construction companies having bought bidding documents, which were opened recently. Fourteen of the bidders have visited the potential locations.


The project, initiated by former premier Thaksin Shinawatra, is to be located on a 400-rai site in Muang district. Construction is scheduled to take two years.


The hall was part of a development plan to reposition the northern province as a destination for the meeting, incentive, convention and exhibition (Mice) business in place of leisure travel, which has been declining.


Chiang Mai has been seen as a leisure tourism destination for 30 years but few new tourism products have been developed to attract return visitors. Hotel occupancy has averaged less than 50% for the past three years due to an oversupply.


The cabinet in July approved the investment budget for the hall, with a construction budget of 2.21 billion baht.


However, Mr Weerasak said the ministry would ask the Budget Bureau to raise the budget to between 2.6 billion and 2.8 billion baht because construction material costs have increased.


In order to maximise the benefits of the new hall to ensure investment returns to the government and reduce its financial burden, the ministry is seeking a private-sector operator to manage the convention centre.


Mr Weerasak said the management firm would need expertise in international marketing and managing large buildings. Officials hope to appoint the firm in March or April.

นายวีระศักดิ์ โควสุรัตน์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา กล่าวว่า ศูนย์ประชุมนานาชาติอิมแพ็ค เมืองทองธานี ได้มีแนวคิดการที่เข้าไปประมูลงานส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยว (เทรดโชว์) ระดับโลกอย่าง World Travel mart (WTM) เพื่อนำมาจัดที่ประเทศไทย ซึ่งก็เป็นแนวคิดที่ดีเพราะที่ผ่านมาประเทศไทยยังไม่เคยเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดงานส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวระดับโลกมาก่อน แต่ถ้าประเทศไทยจะเข้าประมูลการจัดงาน WTM จริงก็คงต้องมีการศึกษาถึงความเป็นไปได้ ข้อดีข้อเสียและอุปสรรคที่สำคัญคืออะไร

อย่างไรก็ตาม เท่าที่ตนทราบข้อมูลเบื้องต้นการจัดงาน WTM ยังไม่มีนโยบายให้จัดที่ต่างประเทศ อีกรวมทั้งมูลค่าลงทุนว่าจะมีมูลค่ามากน้อยเพียงใด จำนวนเงินลงทุนที่ใช้จะนำมาจากที่ใดและการจัดงานดังกล่าวมีประโยชน์มากน้อยเพียงใด แพงแค่ไหนถ้าแพงมากเกินไปการนำเงินไป พัฒนาแหล่งท่องเที่ยวก็น่าจะคุ้มค่ากว่า และแหล่งเงินที่จะนำไปประมูลงาน WTM จะมาจากที่ใดถ้าจากรัฐก็ต้องดูว่าคุ้มหรือไม่

ทั้งนี้ หากพูดถึงความเป็นไปได้ของการจัดงาน WTM นั้นอาจเป็นการจัดในภูมิภาคเอเชียมากกว่าการจัดงานใหญ่ระดับโลก เนื่องจากพื้นที่การจัดงานของประเทศไทยคงไม่ใหญ่เพียงพอ อีกทั้งการจัดงานดังกล่างควรเอามาเชื่อมโยงกับงาน Thailand Travel Mart Plus ที่ประเทศไทยจัดเป็นประจำอยู่แล้วเพื่อให้งานมีความคึกคักมากขึ้น โดยคาดว่าจะใช้เวลาอีกสักประมาณ 2-3 ปีถึงจะมีการจัดงานดังกล่าว

อย่างไรก็ดี ในวันที่ 10-13 พ.ย.นี้ นายวีระศักดิ์ พร้อมทั้งการท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย (ททท.) จะเดินทางไปร่วมงาน WTM ที่กรุงลอนดอน ประเทศอังกฤษ เพื่อดึงนักลงทุนและนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติให้เข้ามาประเทศไทย.

"บางกอก แฟชั่น วีค 2008" คอนเซปต์เพื่อ "โลก"

"บางกอก อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนล แฟชั่นวีค 2008 " คอนเซปต์ "แฟชั่น ฟอร์ เอิร์ธ" เพื่อปลุกกระแสรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อมระดับโลก ดีไซน์เนอร์ไทยชั้นนำจาก 10 แบรนด์และ 4 ห้างยักษ์ใหญ่ของไทยร่วมจัดงาน

ไตรมาส3ตลาดไมซ์หดตัว20% รุกแผนดึงงานนานาชาติเข้าไทย

นายณัฐวุฒิ อมรวิวัฒน์ ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานส่งเสริมการจัดประชุมและนิทรรศการ (องค์การมหาชน) หรือ สสปน. กล่าวว่า ในช่วงไตรมาสที่ 3 ที่ผ่านมาการขยายตัวของการจัดประชุมและนิทรรศการในประเทศลดลงจากช่วงเดียวกันของปีที่แล้วประมาณ 20% เนื่องจากเป็นช่วงโลว์ซีซั่นด้านการจัดประชุมและนิทรรศการ (ไมซ์) ขณะเดียวกันยังมีปัจจัยลบจากความวุ่นวายทางการเมือง และภาวะเศรษฐกิจโลกที่ถดถอยด้วย

อย่างไรก็ตาม จากการที่ตลาดไมซ์ขยายตัวในระดับสูงตั้งแต่ต้นปี จะส่งผลให้การขยายตัวในปีนี้ยังคงเป็นไปตามเป้าหมายที่กำหนด ส่วนปีหน้าก็คาดว่าจะสามารถรักษาการเติบโตตามที่คาดหมาย คือ มีจำนวนการเดินทางเข้ามาจัดงานประมาณ 1.2 ล้านคน สร้างรายได้ 7.8 หมื่นล้านบาท ด้วยงบประมาณในการดำเนินงานในปีหน้าประมาณ 913 ล้านบาท

นายณัฐวุฒิกล่าวว่า ล่าสุด สสปน.ใช้งบประมาณ 10 ล้านบาท ร่วมกับ ซีเอ็นบีซี เอเชีย ดึงงานการประชุมและแจกรางวัลผู้นำธุรกิจดีเด่นแห่งเอเชียครั้งที่ 7 เข้ามาในประเทศไทยเป็นครั้งแรก หลังจากที่ผ่านมางานดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นในประเทศสิงคโปร์อย่างต่อเนื่อง

"แนวทางดังกล่าวอยู่ในยุทธศาสตร์ ที่ สสปน.จะรุกดึงงานระดับนานาชาติที่เคยจัดในต่างประเทศให้เข้ามาจัดในเมืองไทยมากขึ้น และการจัดงานดังกล่าวสร้างประโยชน์ใน 3 ส่วนหลักคือ 1.ช่วยในการฟื้นฟูภาพลักษณ์คนไทยต่อสายตาต่างชาติ 2.กระตุ้นให้เกิดรายได้ในประเทศ คาดว่าจะสร้างเงินสะพัดจากทั้งกลุ่มซีอีโอ และผู้ติดตาม จาก 19 ประเทศ ที่มีอยู่กว่า 200 คน ได้กว่า 7 ล้านบาท และ 3.สร้างการรับรู้ด้านความพร้อมของไทยในการรองรับการประชุม การสัมมนา ตลอดจนการแสดงสินค้าแห่งภูมิภาคเอเชีย นอกเหนือจากการได้รับการยอมรับในฐานะเมืองท่องเที่ยวที่มีชื่อเสียงของโลก"

Artists from 31 countries worldwide gather to showcase their live performances in Bangkok


Art lovers are to experience the world of performance art again when artists from 31 countries worldwide gather to showcase their live performances in Bangkok.

With performances by over 100 world renowned artists, the 10th anniversary of the Asiatopia International Performance Art Festival was launched recently. Follow me to get a glimpse of this event.

Thailand’s festival of performance art, or art in action, where artists can directly interact with viewers, started in 1998 at a small park in Bangkok.

This year the festival is bigger, has moved to Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, and is a result of cooperation between the centre itself and the festival organiser, Concrete House.

Asiatopia artistic director Chumpon Apisuk said art sometimes was neither for viewers to consume nor to understand, but like this festival, it was to open Thailand’s art community to the world so that artists could exchange their cross-cultural experiences.

German artist Jurgen Fritz agreed art had no particular meaning.

"Art is to open up the mind, to take aggression to the people, to irritate people, to give new views, you know," he said.

Renowned artists from 31 countries take turn to perform each weekend in November, from Tran Loung of Vietnam, to Julien Blaine from France, and Tony Schwensen of Australia.
The exhibition includes books, images, DVDs of performance festivals and artists’ materials used over the past ten years. A symposium and lectures focusing on art movements around the globe are held to create and foster artist linkages and cooperation in the region.

A mini Asiatopia exchange event will also be held in Chiangmai from November 14-16.

งาน“ยอยศยิ่งฟ้า อยุธยามรดกโลกและงานกาชาด ประจำปี 2551

สำนักงานพระนครศรีอยุธยา และหน่วยงานภาครัฐและเอกชนกำหนดจัดงาน “ยอยศยิ่งฟ้า อยุธยามรดกโลกและงานกาชาด ประจำปี 2551” ระหว่างวันที่ 12-21 ธันวาคม 2551 (รวม 10 วัน)ณ บริเวณอุทยานประวัติศาสตร์พระนครศรีอยุธยา เพื่อเป็นการเฉลิมฉลองที่คณะกรรมการมรดกโลกแห่งองค์การสหประชาชาติได้ประกาศขึ้นทะเบียนอุทยานประวัติศาสตร์พระนครศรีอยุธยาเป็นมรดกโลกทางวัฒนธรรม ตั้งแต่ปี 2534
