OK guys. I was really surprised that no one posted this, so I'll have to be the first to do it. I know, it's the "Arenas" thread, but it's about the championship, right?

So, as you (probably) know, like all the countries that evel held the championship, we have to choose a mascot for our championship. And here's a page, with all 10 pretenders.

http://www.talismanas.lt

It's all Lithuanian, but I think you will understand it. Thumbs up, thumbs down, check the result, etc.

And 3 highest rated talismans are going to the final, where one of them will be selected as a mascot of Europe Basketball Championship 2011 in Lithuania.

So, what do you think? Many of us think that the mascots, are pretty...Pretty bad, yeah.

Hey guys, I have 3 questions about LITHUANIA-FIBA Eurobasket 2011.

1) Do you know the period of the event?

2) Is there a official site on web?

3) Do you know if they are looking for volunteers about FIBA Eurobasket 2011? It would be an interesting happening to visit Lithuania.

Thanks for your answers.

I repeat the questions, in particolar to Aiwa and Big Cat.

I'd like to visit Lithuania, during Euro 2011, but I haven't found a site or the period of the event.

And an other question to Lithuanian friends, do you know if the organizative comitee is looking for volunteers?

Thx.

Thanks a lot. Nice job. I don't know how you have found it, but you are a great!

Btw, how are the transports between the cities?

E.g. how are the transport from Vilnius to Slauliai or to Panevezys?

Well, the main transport to Siauliai and Panevezys is by bus. The same with Klaipeda and Alytus. But there is a railway line connecting Vilnius and Kaunas. So, you can take a train moving between those two cities.

But I hope that a transport won't be a major problem. Cause at the time and before the tourament they should publish all the information considering how to get and when to get to the needed spot. Besides, if you will become a volunteer that would make all the thing much easier.

Here you can see a photo report about the two Lithuanian hosting cities - Panevezys and Siauliai - made by a Latvian forum member:
- Panevezys
- Siauliai
