Yeah. The height of buildings in the area is restricted by the presence of Southern Naval Command nearby.

I was facing the direction towards the shipyard and took it in multiple shots starting from the left and then moving towards the right.

This one is from opposite direction and you can see Kochi's brand new hotel - The Park and not far behind, the Holiday Inn

i dont understand the logic here..is their any height restrictions in Thevara, MG rd south end, kundannoor, Maradu area? the air distance from naval base might be some wat equal..then how about those giant RTGs at Vallarpadom and Shipyard?

It would have been a great skyline like that of Mumbai marine drive, if there was no restriction...

The navy always object to anything more than 10 floors, and you need to work with them to clear the projects. Even after you may be called up to verify their permission. They OWN the airspace around here, and apparently they love to show that off.

I am not sure if the same attitude is shown by IAF.
