DUBAI | The Atrium | 278m | 912ft | 68fl | App

Developer: Sunland (same developers as Q1 and D1)
Architect: Pickard Chilton
Location: Madinat al Arab (Dubai Waterfront)
Height: 278m
Floors: 68 above ground, 3 below
Use: Residential
Size: 273,000 sq m
Website: www.theatriumdubai.com

Render:

They haven't launched the project and they're already on board with a contractor. Excellent and very unusual.

Arabtec gets Dh2.4bn Sunland Group contract

The Sunland Group has issued a Dh2.4 billion Letter of Intent to Arabtec Construction for its latest project The Atrium at Waterfront.

The scope of work will include all associated structural, civil, electromechanical works, external works and commissioning.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2013.

The project comprises three basement levels and 68 storey residential towers with a total area of 273,000 square meters or more than three million square feet.

Arabtec is currently working with Emirates Sunland (a joint venture between Emirates International Holdings and Sunland) on two major projects in Culture Village. These include the D1 Tower, an 80 storey luxury residential building and Palazzo Versace Dubai, a luxury 215 room hotel, and 169 condominiums.

Madinat Al Arab is the first phase of construction in Waterfront by Master Developer, Nakheel.

The beachfront precinct will transform 1.4 billion square feet into an international community incorporating mixed use development with residential, hotel, commercial and retail. The Atrium will be launched by Sunland at this year's Cityscape.

Arabtec Holding, formerly known as Arab Technical Construction Company, is a public joint stock limited liability company formed in 2004 to invest in the contracting sector through establishing, acquiring and owning shares in construction related companies in the UAE and abroad.

Arabtec Construction, Austrian Arabian Ready Mix Concrete Co. LLC and Arabtec Pre-cast LLC are wholly owned subsidiaries of Arabtec.

Looks almost identical to one of my favorite cancelled Dubai designs. The hotel tower (forgot the name) on the Dubai Creek. So I'm really happy to see that they are finally building it.

The 4 seasons hotel I think. Yes looks similar but here it starts off as two towers and ends as one, the 4 seasons started as one and ended as two.

The renders looks great. I like how it's split in the middle for the most part.
