There are some places with a lot of vegetaton. In either case, the city will have a lot of artificially stimulated vegetation (well, its a city), there are also some natural reserves in the vicinity. Lastly, deserts have biospheres as well.

We cant steer the varying natural conditions though. Dubai has its climate just like Hong Kong has a different one, and likewise Moscow...

What, do you not have a sense of humour? This forum can't be purely objective.

Sandy Dubai VS GREEN Dubai

Well, all I can say is that most construction sites only have sand and dirt around the area. There is a process and usually the green trees and landscape comes at the very last of the phase.

Dubai will be really different in a few years, not just in buildings but the amount of water, green grass and trees, parks, etc. will really change the environment.
It will be exciting to see.

I think Nakheel Harbour Tower will really contribute to providing a natural green environment.

Does anyone know how long the ground work will take for this supertall?
I assume it will be at least a year (if not 2) before we start to see any height.

Ok. Then the ground will have a time frame as follows;
2008 - Ground work Start
2009 - Ground work Continue
2010 - Ground work Continue
2011 - Ground Work finish and base construction
2012 - 2018 ** Tower being constructed
2018 - 2020 Internal and infrastructure construction

If there are no delays and a continues flow of money, that seems as a reasonable timeframe for construction.

But there are most certainly going to be some delays. For a project of this size, I find it hard to believe that everything will go smoothly. The actual height of the tower will also play a time factor.

OK. Then we call it our "First schedule Draft" - version 001.
Now, lets see how many versions we will need to update throughout the years!

Yep! We can get reference and probably need a homepage (like this one) to update on as well.

FYI - In the news section, here is the first news about a "TOP SECRET" skycraper that Nakheel is working on back in 2005.

Maybe you shall catch up with the down to earth guy that inherited the CEO position at Yagamato Industries from his deceased father. He can bring you there at a blink of the eye. Yeah, Nakamura Hiro is just humble like that.

Well, I know the president of ARUP, Japan which is working on the Burj Al ALam supertall for the structure engineering part. He goes to Dubai several times a year. Maybe he can fit me into his suitcase!
