Lots of speculative posts in the last two pages. If you don't have solid info, keep 'em to yourself and let those who do know post the facts.

そうだろうね。こんな超超高層ビルだから、基礎の工事はもっとも時間かかるのだ。

I understand the city wants to make a mark, but the best way it can get noticed is by building something environmentally friendly and SUSTAINABLE... I mean, 'enough air conditionign to cool...' what! how much energy is this tower goign to consume... and who the hell is going to occupy it... if its just goign to be floor upon floor.... someone pelase? tell me how this uildign will function and contribute to peoples lives unless it is in fact just an empty monument to oil and money.
I agree. It would be amazing to see Dubai with all those towers but I can't imagine living in sucha a crazy place.
I wonder how big will be the hole for foundations

People forget what these forums are for. If a skyscraper is already built, the thread is closed! We like to watch and discuss the progress of an exciting supertall.

That being said, these site is monitoring and following the progress. But the progress for this project will be long and slow. A year passes fast and it is exciting to watch the whole area transform (and be a little part of it)!

Hi all.

This is a skyscraper forum not just a skyscraper construction forum. There is a need for a completed section as well as the proposed section. The ROT section has its use but I think after a structure is finished construction it should move to a completed sub-forum.

Just my 2 cents.

New google earth imagery. Pictures taken near the start of the year. The scale is the same as well.

Wow that's way bigger than BD footprint. I measured the circle: about 132 meters diameter.

In this photo the Burj looks like a space ship that has landed in Dubai.
