I enjoy the late version rendering of the Al Burj/Nakeel Harbour Tower. It incorporated more glass and this looks like a bit more like the Burj Dubai. I don't know why but this rendering looks like something built in the 70s or 80s... A bit even like the Seattle Space Needle, don't ask why, haha. I believe that if they going to build, build the late version!

This thread should be closed. Nakheel's debt is trading at junk levels. There is no money for this project. The Dubia Emirate is rescheduling and borrowing money to keep up with its financial commitments so they are not in a position to fund it.

It would truly be an act of reckless vanity to pursue this project. Hope Nakheel Harbour Tower is not built for years for the sake of sound management.

Nakheel has said they were putting this project on hold for a year. So I wouldn't expect anything till next year.

They're saying the samething about some project in nyc. I think the developers are going to drop out by mid fall and someone else will take or from there. I don't know about this project though. I have a feeling they'll drag it out for years. Then nothing will happen, we'll have to wait and see.

Totally agree.....
Also it depends on how long this financial crisis will last...
If it lasts in 1-2 years, this tower might have a chance.
If it lasts 4+ years, definitely not going to get build.

Hopefully the financial crisis will be over soon, so towers like Nakheel will get build and other towers which were canceled like Anara will come back and get build.

Actually a lot of cities/countries in the world could build a tower over 1km, but they don't want too.

Can you Imagine how many buildings over 1 Km can you build with the money they spent only in this picture?
(battleships, carriers, airplanes, weapons)
