I love the Manitoba Legislature. It's my favourite of Canada's provincial parliamentary buildings.

Most of Westminster is indeed 19th century, but "Westminster Hall" was one of the few parts to survive the fire that destroyed the medieval complex that existed on the same site.

I've always really liked Scotland's parliament building, but I've wondered a few times how well it will date.

Here is Northern Ireland's main government building (Stormont)

Dear OakRidge,

I am an alumnus of the Broadcast & Electronic Communication Arts
Department at San Francisco State University (graduated May 2009) in San
Francisco, California. I am making a web site or possible YouTube page
to showcase news reporting and general demo reels that I made in
broadcasting classes for educational purposes. I inserted an image of
the California State Capitol (with the entrance facing the camera) found from this site coming from the google.com image search page into one of my news stories. I want to post the reels with the image onto YouTube or the website for employment
purposes: just to showcase my interview work to possible employers in
the broadcasting industry (part of the job hunt). With your permission,
may I please post this image to the web or YouTube site?

Please contact me when you have the chance. Contact information is at
the end of this message. Thank you. Your assistance is very much
appreciated.

Sincerely,

Brian McCallen

Westminster Palace

Next Week one of the biggest events of the year takes place. The Queen opens Parliment and gives a speech stating what the government should achieve over the next year.

Wow, those are all so gorgeous! My favorites are the British Parliament, the Brazilian Parliament and the Hungarian one.

It was built in 1939 by Langbard

The Great State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

No, I'm not from the midget New England state named above, but after watching all three seasons of the Showtime series "Brotherhood", I've become quite familiar with the Rhode Island Statehouse, which is a pretty imposing edifice considering how tiny the territory under its domain is.

The south façade:

The senate chamber:

And, yes, strange as it may seem all U.S. state legislatures are bicameral, save for Nebraska.
