You're right! It looks clean and that's what I appreciate more in a town!

Modern block of flats and stylish restaurants and fast foods. Russia is developing very well I think!

I have to say it is surprising how nice all these Russian cities look. Maybe they aren't including pictures of the not so nice areas?

Regardless, I really like their architecture. It seems very creative. Much nice than the bland stuff we have here in the US.

What does this city live off of? Industry? Mining? Oil?

The other thread answered at least one of my questions - it lives off of oil

hello, I've been lurking around this wonderful forum months now, but I only bothered to join after seeing your photos....
I have absolutely no idea what Siberia looked like until I saw your photos. When I look at the map, all I see is a huge landmass and nothing else...
The city is so clean and beautiful, but I do have a question though; where are all the people?

you should understand that although Siberia comprise 75% of Russian territory, only 38 million people (out of 142 million Russian population) live there which means that it has 12 times smaller density of population as compared to European part of Russia and as Russia itself have density of population that is 26 times less then that of Great Britain for example, then the answer would be obvious - number of people seen on the streets of Siberian cities is quite reasonable, and you obviously will not see tourists in Tyumen- take tourists and visitors from the streets of London and Paris during a daytime any day exept for weekends and you'll see the same picture - I once happened to visit one Finnish city (Lahti) where there is not that much tourists) and I was surprised that the city was empty during the daytime - nobody on the streets, nobody in stores (exept for shop assistants) -NOBODY ! - I was absolutelly happy about that.

ok thanks. I guess I'm just not used to seeing such a sophisticated looking city with very few people...
Nonetheless, I would love to have these kinds of constructions in my country....concrete buildings rather than steel and glass.
