Nauplio is just amazing..

I took these in summer when I was often visiting Nauplio, my favourite city in Greece.

Actually I wish I took pictures of the modern areas too, they are proarbly the best example for modern Greek cities. They look similar to the typical modern Greek city streets but cleaner and with more style.

Anyways, onto the pics.

I love the Nafplion Archaeological Museum and walking up the 999 steps to the Palamidi Castle, where Kolokotronis was jailed. Gotta love us Greeks, only we would turn on our own liberator!

Καταπληκτικό το Ναύπλιο!! Πραγματικά. Μερικά από τα δρομάκια που θυμίζουνε της παλιές πολεις Λεμεσού και Λευκωσίας!

έτσι θα μοιάζανε και μεγάλα κομμάτια της Αθήνας αν δεν τα κατεδαφίζανε το 70

I've been but only for a few hours on the way back to Athens from Spetses(a beautiful little island with very friendly locals). It was the end of the summer and tourist season so it was quiet, but it was probably some of the best few hours in Greece on that trip. As can be found all over the country, very very friendly people. They all had smiles on their faces, and when they found out we were a bunch of young Greek school kids(was some years ago btw) all the way from Australia they were blown away. Last thing they expected to see.

Great pictures Ares_K... An amazingly beautiful and very Greek town. I think Athens was something like this half a century ago.
