My Trip to Philadelphia

So last week, me and half of the people in my Urban & Regional Planning year went on a field trip to Philadelphia. These are some of the 200 pics I took during the trip. Sorry about the quality. I used the bulk uploader on Photobucket.

View from my hotel room

I pretty much dropped my stuff, and went straight out into the city

City Hall & the fountain at Love park

Comcast

City Hall

The Ritz

Inside Comcast

Art Museum

Skyline from the top of the steps

Another skyline shot

My buddy taking a pic of the skyline from the waterworks

SEPTA system map

Long underground corridor on top of the Broad St. line

City Hall at night

Market St. Home of Philly's nightlife

Bridge to Camden NJ

Pilot project for a plan to light up the Avenue of the Arts in downtown Philly. Soon every building along the avenue will be lit like this and animated.

City hall again

And an awesome shot of the skyline at night

I have more pics to share, but ill post them tomorrow. Check back! Hope you enjoyed these ones.

I'm trying to imagine that last shot without Comcast and it truly is lacking. Comcast has enhanced Philly's skyline so much it's not even funny. Btw, I've never seen that Art Museum before, how insane. That thing is huge, a true gem. I love Philly, thanks for the pics.

Cool, I was just in Chicago. I am deeply in love with NYC, Chicago and Philadelphia..the El cities of the US.
Glad that you went to see a city so many people never get a chance to visit.

Im so glad I went too. I went to Chicago in February and thought it was my favourite American city until this Philly trip. I can't believe that Philly doesn't attempt to reach out to international tourists. It has so much to offer.

Some more pics:

Eastern State Penitentiary

Some art

One of the many fountains in Philly

Museum lobby

A trail along the riverfront. It was raining but the trail was still pretty busy

SEPTA Subway

Inside Union Station

Geno's Steaks

Pat's Steaks (Personally, I think both sucked. I've had better cheese steaks in Canada)

A square with pieces from various board games

Avenue of the Arts during the day

Love Park fountain dyed pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Cant end the trip without checking out a Flyers game... Thanks to the people who gave me and my friend FREE tickets. You guys made our trip!

And the last picture I took in Philly:

Actually Philly has one of the highest rate of European tourists in the nation. It's the Americans that don't visit.

Excellent shots! Philly looks really cool and urban. That wall looks really old.

Great pictures. I like that you took a picture of the Art Museum from the Ben Franklin Parkway. Most tourists only go up and take pictures from the Art Museum.

Pat's and Geno's are bad. They are really more like tourist traps. I like Pat's better than Geno's, though. Next time, go to Tony Luke's or Jim's for your steaks.
