According to the official quoted by Le Clerk:

But no, not HST project here, not even 200-220 km/h. The railway is already double & electrified. The purpose of the current rehabilitation is to increase the speed from 120 km/h today to 160 km/h (although the tracks will allow 200 km/h on some sections) and of course, to increase the safety. The railway is designed for both passengers & freight transport.
Thanks.

Romania speed record, 200 km/h

203 km/h reached by a class 42 loco in the 70s and last year, and the same speed by a Softronic Phoenix this year. THey were all done on the Făurei test track.

I nuovi

I treni

Private real estate developer to build railway terminal in Ploiesti with EUR 7 mln
Business News | romania-insider.com | October 20, 2010 at 1:38 pm

Real estate developer Alinso Group will build an inter-modal railway terminal in Ploiesti, connecting the Eastern and Western areas of Romania, a private investment of EUR 7 million. The terminal, called Euro Gate Terminal Ploiesti, will be ready in 2011. It will be built on 10 hectares of land and it will include three railway lines with a total length of 2,200 meters.

“Euro Gate Terminal will stimulate the economic development of the Prahova region as well as the increase in the national economic competitiveness, which currently deals with the lack of adequate infrastructure,” said Ivan Lokere, CEO Alinso Group (in picture).

Alinso Group is the developer of Ploiesti West Park warehouse project, with a total value of buildings and infrastructure in the project reaching EUR 750 million.
