Sky gardens may well yet define our architectural legacy - if any get built. It will seem such an absurd idea when future generations re-vist the pleasure of nuturing real gardens.

the GLA's report on this came out on Sept 23rd and they are ok with the its impact on strategic views so height wise it should be fine. They were unhappy with stuff like affordable housing and playspace. Lambeth's planning committee had this on their agenda for last night (Oct 21st) but i cant find an outcome anywhere. Anyone know?

Boris will just overrule them: we can be 100% certain of this.

Boris will just use these as additional excuses for refusing it.

100%? you mean the fact that it will be hidden behind the taller st georges wharf doesn't make you think this is maybe just 60% or even 20%?

Boris has no valid reason for rejecting this. It does not ruin any sight lines as it barely registers on any designated views. This tower has slipped well under the radar and there's been no bleating s whatsoever from the usual mob at Westminster or EH so its more than likely to assume this will get planning permission so i've got no idea where you get 100% from.

I reckon being close to St George it's more likely to get approval - not like this will be standing on its own.

I have it from a reliable source that this scheme was approved at Tuesday's committee meeting.
