Weee!!! Tucson love!!! Tucson is a fasinating city. It's a big city that doesn't feel like a big city. It's truly unique.

Here are some pics I found on flickr.

Nice pics, everyone....not sure how I missed this thread before. Brings back nice memories of when I used to live there and my University of Arizona days. There's something about the desert that's hard to describe...the wide-open vistas, beautiful mountain views that are constantly changing with the light, the warm sun that you become addicted to. Tucson has missed out a little on the super-fast growth that cities like Phoenix, Las Vegas, Austin, etc. have had, and it's a bit tougher to find a higher paying job there, but in some ways it's kind of good - though the metro area has about a million people now, it still retains a certain small-town feel to it. The people are very friendly, laid-back and fairly progressive/liberal. That's one of the many things I miss about it...

More Tucson (via flickr).

Tucson to me is more 'real' than Vegas or Phoenix. It's older than the US and feels like it. It has a totally unique feel to it as most desert cities usually do. I like it a lot. Plus it smells awesome in the summer despite it being hot as hell.

And this is a typical summers day in Tucson. And yes the rain does come that fast.

Ilive in scottsdale and go often to Tucson. Your pictures of Downtown tucson are nice but the nicest areas of Tucson are not in the downtown area.

^ Yeah I know. The Northside (near La Encantada and Sabino Canyon) is where the real beauty is.

the city looks nice and interesting.
I like the old Tucson where most of those western movies were shot.
just wondering why the streets are almost empty...
