i actually used to do that a couple years back (lived in diamond bar for a year) and it worked out great for me. now i live in filipinotown, so it's even better to just take the subway to macarthur or even the beverly bus to west hollywood

Many busses run 24 hours in parts of LA Hollywood. Both the 4 and the 2 run every 30 minutes during Owl service.

I know that the 720 (Venice Blvd bus) runs 24 hours a day. Since I live in Culver City, this helps whenever I go out to party downtown someplace.

There are 41 bus lines that run 24 hours. The 4 which I take and the 2 sometimes run every 30 minutes all night. This isn't chemical engineering people. Here is the MTA's Night Owl Schedule:http://www.metro.net/around/timetables/24-hour/

^ Extremely. I live in downtown Culver City about a 5 minute walk from the Venice/Robertson station. Culver City is already thriving with a large artist community. Loads of restraunts, a few lounges, and the Kirk Douglas Theater. Not to mention the many many art galleries on Washington. Best believe that I will be there opening day.

I'm curious because I've never been to LA but it has a huge population so there must be some really bustling main streets or night life areas. Are there any videos that show lively, bustling tourist areas like, like that NYC video?

It's easy to rebut them, though they will hate you for the rest of their time here.
