My Ottawa Photoblog
Hey guys, I've been really inspired by a few members in this forum that I decided to start my very own photo thread. Since I live in Ottawa, most of the pictures will be from there... although I do make occasional trips to Montreal and Toronto, so don't count out a change of venue from time to time.
![]() As for my first entry, I had a few moments to kill on a Sunday afternoon and decided to snap a few pics around the University of Ottawa and Parliament Hill. Hope you guys enjoy! The new Desmarais building (at Ottawa U), which has done wonders for the area. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Lord Elgin Hotel ![]() ![]() Department of National Defense ![]() Chateau Laurier and the War Monument ![]() ![]() National Arts Centre ![]() Westin Hotel ![]() Parliament Hill ![]() ![]() ![]() The Langevin Block ![]() ![]() Skyline Shot ![]() West Block ![]() East Block ![]() Peace Tower viewed from the west side ![]() The Canadian Parliamentary Cats!! ![]() ![]() Ottawa River with Gatineau, Quebec in the background ![]() Gatineau office towers ![]() Canadian Museum of Civilization ![]() Royal Alexandra Interprovincial Bridge ![]() Library of Parliament ![]() ![]() Statue of Samuel de Champlain ![]() National Art Gallery ![]() A different perspective ![]() ![]() American Embassy ![]() Rideau Canal ![]() ![]() Other random pictures... ![]() ![]() Rideau Street ![]() ![]() New condo: 90 George ![]() New condos: Claridge Plaza ![]() ![]() ![]() Looking down Dalhousie, toward the Foreign Affairs building ![]() And a few skyline shots from my Bf's appartment ![]() ![]() ![]() That's it! Hope you enjoyed!

Gridsky, this is marvellous!! I am so happy you started a photothread. Ottawa is particularly gorgeous in the Autumn and the Spring, and I look forward to seeing more of your brilliant pictures!

Nice thread. Thanks. The Library of Parliament looks sensational. The American embassy looks like a prison. Looking forward to more. Cheers.

Nice pictures of the Canadian capital. Parliamentary cats? It was more like racoons when I was there this summer.

Interesting shots, thank you very much for sharing!
![]() The first lot contained a lot of concrete, I'm glad to see that Ottawa is far from being overrun with concrete (thankfully).

Great shots! I love seeing someone else's view of Ottawa.
![]() From the pictures, I'm guessing your b\f lives in Sandy Hill, maybe somewhere around Chapel and Laurier? I love that neighborhood.

Ottawa is such a beautiful city and it's a shame more people don't know the treasures it contains. Do you have a picture of the Supreme Court of Justice? I love that building; it represents exactly what it ought to: strength, solidity, and respect.

Hey guys, thanks for all the compliments!!
I'm hoping to get some more pics in a couple of weeks. I've been really busy with school and work, so that's why I haven't made any updates lately. Glad that there's still an interest, though.
