I booked Jet flights separately for Trichy to chennai, since we don't have any relatives or friends in Chennai I booked this way so that they don't have to be anywhere out of Chennai Airport. My parents booked a lounge in Chennai Airport 400 Rs per head so that they can retire in Chennai Airport for 5 hours before catching the Etihad flight.

Great to see domestic traffic improving.We need flights to cities like Mumbai, Delhi and not just MAA.

I dont think so. Because the load factor still stands around 60percent only. This situation might change as spicejet is pulling out one of its flight.

Hope they fill this slot with other destinations.

The growth rate given is in comparison with last yeas and at that time less service and traffic. So the 3 digit growth and we cannot consider it as a growth.

I don't expect to see 70-80% load factor in TRZ-MAA route with lot of other options available. Not surprised SG is pulling out its late morning flight as Jet using bigger aircraft is doing well.They should have tried early morning slot.We got to get flights to DEL , MUM to see increased load factor.

Nice to see that the domestic crosses again more than 10000. If jet introduces direct flights to Mumbai the figures may go up to 20000 which will help us to cross the dream mark of 100,000 passangers perr month

We have requested in Facebook to send e-Petition for Airport Runway expansion to the concerned (like Collector, Trichy MP(Head of Airport Development Commitee) etc)...

AIE MAA-TRZ-SIN flight schedule changed

Looks like AIE changed its MAA-TRZ-SIN flight timing. We get an early morning flight from MAA.

MAA-TRZ : Dep 5:55 AM, Arrv 7:00 Am
TRZ-MAA : Dep 17:25 Arr 18:30

yes. he has informed that he is closely following the development. Also from his speech he aware of the requirement of runway expansion in three phases. now they are concentrating to extent upto 9000 ft in first phase.

At least Tiger restarting some of its service, hope they return back to twice daily schedule.

Translation: Tiger airways currently operates 7X a week now, and two additional day service on Thursday and Sunday is to begin from next month.

so in this case, acquiring the controversial road running across the present runway path would not be a problem then? my as well expand runway immediately at 12,500ft, instead by phases. presume sg has the required fund now for compensations to acquire the required land then.

I assume there wont be much land acquisition for runway expansion to 9000 ft. It makes sense as Trichy airport can handle bigger aircraft and one step closer to get international status.

New chairman for Airline Operators Committee

T.Mahendran, Station Manager, Air India, Tiruchi, has been nominated chairman of the Airline Operators Committee, Tiruchi.

J.David Jayaraj, station head, Air Asia, Tiruchi, will be the secretary and A.Sivakumar, station manager, Mihin Lanka, Tiruchi, will be the treasurer. The new office bearers would hold office for a period of two years, according to a press release.

The committee, comprising representatives from all airline operators and ground handlers operating from the Tiruchi airport, interacts regularly with the Airports Authority of India and other airport agencies for continuous development of infrastructure and amenities for the betterment of passengers and to enhance the facilities for customers.

The committee would take up with the authorities some of the pending issues such as the expansion of airport terminal, introduction of pre-paid taxi services, introduction of third aero bridge at the airport and Wi-fi services at the airport, the release added.

guess at order is already being pegged to us dollar agreements. then why now talking about rupees depreciation, when only delivery of aircrafts is concern as stipulated.
