The Project for the Federal Employees Benevolent & Group Insurance Funds is located in Blue Area (Jinnah Avenue) Islamabad. The BF Tower has been planned for construction as a mixed-use, multi-story commercial building and is designed to accommodate commercial retail, office floors, health club, food court and a 4 screen Cineplex with a roof top restaurant. The Orange Line seems to be the longest of the four, at around 42 km long. That's around twice as long as the currently existing Red Line which is roughly 23 km long. I'm going to assume that the western Part of the line (Kashmir Highway Interchange to New Airport) will serve as a "Airport Express" route since the line in that area doesn't come into contact with a lot of densely populated areas and may be considered suburban. May very well have fewer stations per km as compared to the other lines. It connects with the Blue line at Zero Point and the Red Line at the Kashmir Highway Interchange.

Surprisingly, the Blue Line is slightly shorter than the currently operational Red Line at around 20 km. I assume it will serve the purpose of connecting Southern and Eastern Rawalpindi with the commercial hub in Islamabad. It connects with the Green line at Katchery Chowk, Orange line at Zero Point and may very well connect with the Red line at Faizabad since the track will almost certainly be at a walking distance from the currently operational Faizabad Station on the Red line. Interestingly, Katchery Chowk is also at a walking distance (1.3 km) from the Saddar Station on the currently operational Red Line.

However, I have one complaint about this line. Had they stretched it beyond Zero Point to connect with the Red Line just 2 km North at Centaurus, it would've been ideal for those who would otherwise have to change over to the Red Line at Faizabad. That would alleviate a lot of pressure from the already overburdened Red Line. In fact, they should just stretch it another 6km all the way to the Faisal Mosque. The place is swarmed with tourist buses around the clock. This would serve as an ideal alternative for tourists.

I was expecting the Green Line to take a different route. It would've been ideal had it shot off into two branches, one turning towards IJP road as it does and another going north on Peshawar Road, eventually connecting with the Orange line at Golra Mor or Motorway Interchange. At 16 km long, it's the shortest line in the network but it will pass through some of Rawalpindi's busiest areas. It feels more like a feeder line for the Red and Blue lines. It connects with the Red line at IJP Station and Saddar Station & with the blue line at Katchery Chowk.

The Red Line needs no introduction. It's already the only BRT line in the city with 24 stations spanning over 23 km that connects the hubs of the twin cities. Though terribly overcrowded, an upgrade to LRT should alleviate some of that pressure.

I wonder if they have plans to introduce some Rapid Transit lines for the twin cities in the future. With a population of 4.7 million in the Twin City Metropolitan Area, long LRT lines aren't going to fix anything. We need faster trains with larger passenger capacity.

At last there is a little concern on this much needed subject for the population there. These types of measures are always optimal for these cities, I am tottaly agree.
